Enough of this love me do thingy.

5 days now to the beginning of the F1 season (Friday morning). The pre season has been as confusing as a day in Babel's tower. Total nonsense, in other words. Many big words has been said. I have developed an allergy towards HRT and their words about "we will use the first races as tests". Nonsense. They will not even qualify for those, I believe. So 15 minutes a race meeting is all they get.

The rest should be OK. I am sure some of them has been running underweight like Sauber did last year. Very much on pace in pre season tests. 2.5 seconds of the pace in the first race at Bahrain two weeks later (2010). This year ? Torro Rosso's pace is a bit suspect. The same for Williams.

I can ramble on...... but it all starts in 5 days time. Can't wait.

The bad teams will be bad, that is about all I know and can say with confidence LOL

I am expecting some good results from Renault. Petrov has a year under his belt now, Heidfeld is a veteran and the car seemed decent last year. Granted Kubica definitely drove better than the car I'd say.

I also want to see if Force India continues improving and of course how will Schumi do with Mercedes now that he has the year of experience with them, and time to adjust to the sport again.

Oh and I am rooting for Alonso as champ as usual Big smile

Missed Sebring as well, though it appears BMW won in GTE with the Andy Priaulx car, so a good result for me.

Practice for the Aussie GP is in half an hour.

I'm actually going watch it because it's been way too long. I need to hear the sounds of F1 again.
Also maybe can LOL at how sad HRT will be?

Does anyone know an online stream where I can watch the practice? I found one but it's in German. LOL

Nevermind, I found it.

Hmm, this track looks very similar to the Canadian track that was used in the 90s (not sure if there still is a Canadian grand prix).

Havn't watched much lately Alex?

They still have a Canadian GP, it's been at the Gilles Villeneuve as long as I've been watching. They've also been at Albert Park in Australia as long as I've been watching.

This is interesting. Broadcasters saying there is a new tire supplier this year, and they specifically designed them wear more I guess. They were going on about how tire wear will be more on the driver now, and maybe having to do 4 stops a race. Well, sounds interesting at least!

Ah this feels good. Just seeing and hearing those cars are enough...those majestic beasts.
Also, 10 years since Alonso's debut. Was crazy to see that 19 year old, driving a minardi!

I instantly liked him my first year  watching (03). Glad to see him on my favorite team now but I may always remember Alonso on Renault...

Edit: 2 minutes 27 seconds left in the second practice, HRT finally puts a car on the track!

Pretty much almost all the last decade Embarrassed I did watch once in a while but we Romanians had the bad luck of a long-term commentator named Dan Grigorescu who is absolutely awful, sort of like Moshkito but worse. Many people quit watching because of him. This year another television bought the rights and hopefully Mr. Grigorescu does not come with the "package" so we can watch again!

I remember the track in Canada was also in a park right near a lake, there were also similarities in some curves, the fences and other such elements. And I'm sure it was Canada because I remember the commentators kept saying while I was seeing those things that Jacques Villeneuve is driving "at home".

haha! Moshkito broadcaster would be something great, but I'm happy with the SPEED lineup they have. Those soothing British voices...

Yeah, that's the track. It does have a lake in the middle and has the walls are right at the edge, like a street circuit almost. That would be the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. It's one of my favorites.
Australia is pretty similar actually, with the lake and how it feels like a street circuit.

Just glad the F1 season is here Approve

^As long as its not an HRT!Wink

And the Circuit Gilles Viellneuve is right on an island in the St Laurence river, and yeah, its very similar to Melbourne in being a parkland track.

I wasnt expecting these times, the emergency updates McLaren have brought seem to have gained them a fair bit of speed!

Heh I'd be ok with HRT my body runs like a stock car...with a torn up side and blocked cooling vent! LOL

Can't wait to watch qualifying, and I love when they race in Australia because the race is at midnight. Big smile
No waking up at 7, or staying up till 4:30

Edit: Finally! I really like what F1 has done with this knock out qualifying. Should be even more interesting with the 107% rule.

Also, curious to see how Mercedes will do this year. The "best of the rest" I wanna see if they can step up in '11. Also Schumi had to deal last year, but has had input this time around. I think we all expect some improvement, which is pretty nuts considering his age and time out...

This whole comeback thing may be the biggest challenge Michael has ever faced. It's all pretty wild

Petrov gets #3, while Kobayashi and Perez with the Sauber get 5 and 6 for Q1.

Impressive start.

Edit:
Whew, damn Vettel is fast. Ownage of the field today.

They were saying someone who doesn't make the cut off can still race, by Stewards decision.
Depending on how close they were, putting in a "good effort" but really, its just up to their discretion.

I am looking forward to this race. Eagerly. Less than 12 hours until BBC starts the broadcast.

No HRT mobile chicanes tomorrow. I am sorry to report that I was right. They were a lot closer to the cut off time than I anticipated though. But their preparations were shambolic/unworthy of F1 so well deserved sitting out this one. I had sympathy with the new teams the first season. But this is their 2nd season so put up or leave the scene.

There is also an Indycar race tomorrow and Juan Pablo Montoya on pole in the California NASCAR race. All in all; the next 24 hours will be exciting for all motorsport fans.

yes, certainly.

I'm looking forward to World Superbikes as well.

The superpole session at Donington was great, Biaggi is in total confusion and showing his habitual madness, Checa on pole again, great performances by Haslam, Sykes and Haga as well.
