Classic Yes, bought as an afterthought when I bought 90125 when it came out in 1983. Still my favourite album cover to this day (Classic Yes, not 90125 )

Scenes from a Memory. I was 18.5 years old and it was in march 2009. I heard it twice, didn't like most of it, and then I heard other DT's albums and also Pink Floyd. Few months later I got back to it and understood how fool I was.

First album I bought was KC's Discipline.
First albums I heard included: Discipline, FZ's One Size Fits All, UK's UK, Brand X's Morrocan Roll, Spock's Beard's Kindness Of Strangers, Gentle Giant's Interview, The Muffin's Open City, KC's The ConstuKction Of Light, and a Happy The Man collection.

It was A Passion Play in 2007 I think. Before that, I only listened to the Beatles. This was the first I listened to but the first I bought was Songs from the Wood in the same year.

Well that must have been Camel's Rain Dances which I bought in a used records store 2 years ago...I went back there many times ever since... Today I bought Rush and U.K. in that same store! Absolutely love these classic prog bands...perhaps regressive rock would be a better term right? well, it's still progressive amongst most of nowadays mainstream artists though...

First one I ever listened to was Best of Kansas, first one I ever bought was Leftoverture; it all spiraled out of control from there.

I saw Jethro Tull when i was 12. I only knew Bursting Out though.
The first prog album i listened to was Gentle Giant's octopus and VDDG's GODBLUFF ( i heard both around the same time)
I already listened to peter gabriel's solo music since kid, to be more specific since Secret World Video came out (1994 or 1995) i think.
Needless to say that for someone to like GG or VDDG at age 12, which for most aren't really the easiest to digest, i know have listened to probably any subgenre this site has. Rock Progressivo Italiano being probably my biggest discovery through this site.

My first prog album was Probably Ayreon's The Human Equation or some other progressive metal album, but at the time I thought of them just as metal albums. The first prog album I bought aware that I was buying prog was Spock's Beard's Snow. Best impulse purchase ever, since it lured me into the world of prog.

I've listened to Led Zeppelin and Queen since I was 10. I heard some Yes stuff when I was 11, but it was a year before I bought and listened to my first album by them. I also heard Kansas later that year. I think my first full listen-through of a progressive rock album was De-loused in the Comatorium (TMV) when I was 12. I eventually bought Fragile and listened to that quite a bit.
If this counts, I was, according to my parents, a huge 80s Genesis fan when I was 3-4. My dad recorded and toured with Phil Collins Big Band and my parents would point out anything Phil Collins on the radio, in movies, etc.

I was 17. I bought MASTER OF PUPPETS by METALLICA on cassette tape. From then on it spiraled out of control. I am 32 now, so I have been listening to prog for half of my life span. Hard to believe when I say it like that After my first dose of prog metal by Metallica it was not 1 week later that I got into RUSH. It was love at first listen. I bought GRACE UNDER PRESSURE, SIGNALS and PRESTO all at once and that was a big moment for me because it was Rush that was the major gateway player that led me to so much. I can also thank my brother because he had some Joe Satriani tapes and I picked up his SURFING WITH THE ALIEN and really enjoyed that, which led me to explore more instrumental based music. Anyway. That is my story.
