that's a fair and honest response psarros, maybe you could use this chance to re-write your review so it's more convincing.. not every review has to be subjective in style, you can make a compelling argument that an album is poor if you choose to

Psarros: I understand where you are coming from - but there are ways of expressing your sentiments which are much better than in the review you wrote.

Especially when writing a negative review the language you use is worth considering - choice of expressions, choice of words. A guideline is that this is something you could have said to the people who made the music to their face. Another guideline is to to write in a manner you would have been comfortable in receiving if you had made the music yourself - a third is that the choice of words and expressions is on you would have used if your best friend, brother or sister had made the music.

This doesn't mean that criticism isn't a good thing, but that it is an advantage to use words and expressions that comes across as somewhat more objective than the ones you used.

Just as a friendly tip :-)

I fully understand your whole point...But believe me, if my brother or sister or anybody close to me had released this album HONESTLY I would have said to them ''just cut a couple of tracks out, they are out of the atmosphere the other tracks create''...I always say to someone the truth as it is and not the truth he wants...That's wat makes someone authentic...whether the others like it or not...Maybe I pushed the limits too much...Will be more careful next time...

Nice move! Smile

IMO you should not restrain yourself to a few albums from some specific countries/languages but instead to explore the vast world of the progressive music, no matter the country or the language keeping in mind the lessons learned herein and elsewhere (life is outside to teach us everyday issues, no?). Star

At your request, I'll delete the review to leave room for a (who knows?) re-visit in the future. Prog-on! Wink

Of course I do not limit my music experiences in a couple of countries...That's why I checked LOS JAIVAS'  music out...Check just my reviews' list...It contains bands from Spain ,Argentina ,Slovakia ,Yugoslavia ,Chile ,Brasil  ,Russia, Canada among others...And the list will never end...

Prog rules...Take care all of you...

Okay, I've had a free afternoon after a piano lesson, so I've done a thorough look into black-jester reviews, already accused of plagiarizing, to see if it's the case for all his reviews:

First off, Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd
http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=182915

Plagiarizes Cesar Inca's, Fuxi's and Clarke2001's reviews (the first two positive, the latter negative), plus a first line by a senior member

Genesis - Foxtrot
http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=182914
Plagirizes kabright, Garion81, The Whistler (I wondered how can such a smashing writing and imagination come from a prick like this black_jester), Zowie Ziggy

Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=182913
Plagiarizes Blackdog, King-By-Tor

Yes - Close To The Edge
http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=182912
Plagiarizes Treasure, UMUR, The T

Genesis - Selling England By The Pound
http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=182911

Plagiarizes Rune2000, King-by-Tor, Fitzcarraldo, King-by-Tor again, Fitzcarraldo again!!

Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick
http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=182910
Plagiarizes kabright, UMUR, Tarcisio Moura, Garion81,

Rush - A Show Of Hands
http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=182909
Plagiarizes ttaylor102003, ProgLeviathan, King-By-Tor, MattaandBarbara, sidz_ceb

It is CLEAR that this guy is a plagiarizer, I strongly propose he is BANNED.

When I read that Dark Side of the Moon review I was thoroughly confused by how this guy could give it two stars while writing about it being a masterpiece, and then ending with it being utterly horrible except for the 1 song.  I thought about reporting it but I was too confused by it.  I guess that explains it if he was cutting and pasting other's reviews into his review. Wacko

Yes, I also thought, the first time, that it was a schizophrenic review, switching moods in between the writing. LOL But then I read the last line, knew it was a memorable one a reviewer has written before, and dug up for clues, finding them: that line (BTW) was Clarke2001's.
