The more common sense we have the less money we need to make and the less fun we need to have, cause we'll already have more of each

you need to check this song twseel

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n6UK3rBMeE what you think of the gutiar solo in the end, the bass playing, the drumming and synths

i find the guitar is among the most elegent i have heard, so precise and sharp, and Nik is not even ranked on the top 100 of guitarplayers, but he is as articulate as Prince on the gutiar.

Also how did the gig go Steve?
I went and observed, basically.  Johnny was there but no one else from our band.  We didn't feel quite ready to jump in on a jam.  And everyone there was playing blues jams and everybody was professional-level or close to it.  Not really my scene.  The guy who runs the open mic is an acquaintance of Johnny and his wife (who was also there), and he assured me that it's not a requirement to play the blues, that's just what happens to be the comfort zone of everyone who regularly shows up.  But I was encouraged at least to know that the people there seemed interested in hearing what we could do (friendly crowd, and a pretty nice atmosphere for a bar).  We just need to convince the rest of our band to show up.  It would be a long drive for the other guys.

Incidentally, I don't really know what the appeal is watching people play blues songs.  Some rehearsed groups can play interesting songs using a blues basis, but when you have 4 guys who've never played together, they have little choice but to stick to the most basic templates, which amounts to 4 or 5 different variations on basically the same song.  Then the whole focus becomes, "how good are the solos?", and pretty soon it becomes clear it's a total self indulgent w**k-fest.  Which is fine, I guess, but I can't understand how people can really get into that same thing night after night.

Yeah. Now, if someone there was doing some weird, out side of the box take on the blues, like I've been keen on doing lately, I could see getting into it.
