Mick, hope you will compile your list into one post when you're finished!  So far looks great!!

thanks....

yes... I will.. and then will start it's companion list... obviously.. I"m skipping a LOT of albums..  consider this one I"m doing...the 'black' list.. the next one will be the 'white' list.  I know Linus likes the more passionate or aggressive..stuff..  I think only 2 of the albums (Battiato and Delirium) really differ from that.

That's what I'm talking about! Wouldn't be in to this sub-genre otherwise. Aggressive is good, but far from mandatory.

this list is targeted to you based on that not a general recommendation list..... I did get weak and suggest two that really might not fit that. I  might adjust my final list when I start the 'white' list and move Delrium and Battiato over to that list.

Come on, he's just given you the perfect opportunity to recommend the silly dancing flower and his insomnia-curing backing band.

Also, I think you'd like Vietato, even if it takes a little time to get into.
Might have posted about it before, but then... might not.

Same sh*t LOL. Listened to the sample anyway. Vocals don't belong to my favourite kind.

The vocals do take time.

As a whole, a very good album, I'd give it a comfortable 4 stars (though I know Kotro thinks it's a six-star album).

I think that the speeding-up effect on the end of The Return Of Signor K. was a disastrous choice, and there are one or two moments where I think the follow through didn't *quite* reach the height it could have. Still, great album, some very good guitar and keys, and Vangelo and Gil are both superb.

couldn't agree more...  ...and yes that speeding up effect was cringeworthy indeed hahahha.  Gil is my favorite piece off the album... fabulous stuff.  Glad you liked it.

he ..sh*t... did play with other groups I believe.. then became a HIGHLY regarded session drummer... Let me check my book on both of them.
back to this topic, I came across a band called Duello Madre from 1973, both Callero and Zocchedu were in the lineup (but the drummer was different).  They only released one album, you can listen to it at their myspace page...that signature bass style is obviously there, but now the overall sound is more jazzy, in fact this falls squarely into he RPI jazz section.  Greg Walker has the mini-LP, I'd go for it if I didn't already have a ton of stuff on the listLOL Maybe next time... Big%20smile

it is a good album .... I preferred Arrrowhead for being less jazzy and just more crunching and direct in it's attack.. that's why I recommended that one for Linus.
arrgh, I should have known you have it alreadyWink.  I listened to the whole thing on Myspace and agree that Arrowhead is probably better for a newbie...but still, that friggin' bass, man, everything about it is awesome.  Even when he doesn't play fast, the sound itself isClap

...and keep that list goin'! I was going to offer my $0.02, but I realized that you've covered most of what I know by nowCryLOL
