Socrates too - who (I think) was also a doctor.........in fact the link I posted above refers to an entire team of puffers......:
"Back in 1998, the pro-smoking group Forest had no trouble finding enough players for an all-smoking fantasy team: Dino Zoff, Socrates, Gerson, Jack Charlton, Frank Leboeuf, Jimmy Greaves, David Ginola, Osvaldo Ardiles, Malcolm Macdonald, Bobby Charlton, Robert Prosinecki. Sub: Gazza. Coach: César Luis Menotti."
....although IMO there're as many duffers as puffers in that team.......

Another sub, as goalie: Felix. The 1970 Brazilian Team was famed by the dress-room chimney made by Gerson and Felix, during intervals.
Gerson made ads of cigarette brands but later he stopped smoking and is now an activist anti-smoke.
And yes, Socrates is really a medical doctor but I think he also stopped smoking since he is now double the size of Ronaldo.

Let's hope Portugal can proove again (after their match against France) that they are able to play football instead of making theater and diving, I go for a 2-1 victory against Germany (without Ballack, their 'Dreh - und Angelpunkt')!

I hope Portugal looses. probably my least-favorite team from this years world cup (And yes, I hate them even more than the polish team ). Their dirty playing, Oscar-winning acting and agressive behavour puts me of completely...

He did it again!
Can't you just ban Ronaldo? I've never seen a player that obviously trying to cheat all the time.
EDIT: I completely agree Ed, Portugal's team was the biggest disgrace to their country and football in general.

Great show by Portugal, a real rehabilitation, wonderful combinations, excellent skills by Ronaldo, Deco and Maniche, the Germans look so poor with their 4-5-1, waiting on ball losts by Portugal ..
And please, BebieM, stop pointing at Ronaldo, this game I have seen more dives by Klose and Podolsky, do you recognize them here:

Youwatching the same game as I am erik? Germany is dominating the game. And they don't have a 4-5-1 formation by the way.

In the first part of the second half Portugal were controling the game and then, a lucky shot and and own goal, lucky Germany ! If Hoelderlin, Novalis and Jane would have had the same luck as this German football team, they could have compete with Collins Genesis concerning selling progrock albums ..!

Don't pay attention to Erik, guys, he just doesn't seem to be learning
anything, and he's probably the only one not being astonished by
the german team's performance in this world cup
We achieved way more than we expected and never showed any unfair
playing or cheating, first time that I'm really proud of our national
team
Ok, the only thing we need now is a good final and France as the winner
hold on Erik ... where'd that dutch team stay? (and who did they lose to? )

Portugal did not play well, but Germany did. Any person would know from watching the first half that greater possession meant less chances really. Putting the ball in Ronaldo's feet either:
1. Slows down the game
2. Dives when he is around someone
3. Loses the ball
Germany overall took their chances well, and the only bright spot in the Portuguese game was the brilliant cross by Figo and the diving header by Nuno Gomes.

It was an entertaining game and the right result for the fair-minded.
