And evening plebeians.  I'm trying to remember if I reviewed Third... I believe I did.  If I did, I'm going to edit it, 'cause I've thought of a cool word to insert in it.

Edit: H to He, eh? Big%20smile

I'd give it 4.5/5 myself.  It's an amazing album and there's nothing wrong with it... not a single bad moment at all but it's not Still Life, Godbluff or Pawn Hearts...

4.5 on my scale means 5/5 though.

Lost is my favourite track too! Big%20smile

H to He vs. Pawn Hearts vs. Godbluff vs. Still Life

I can probably make an argument for why each one is better than the other three. Once you get to that level, it comes down to preference, really, and H to He simply hit me harder than any of the others.

I can't really decide between Lost and Pioneers over C. Fantastic stuff!

It depends on the mood.

Lost is my break-up or feeling sh*tty about relationships... or as in my case, being in love with someone who isn't reciprocating my love pangs.
Pioneers over c (the C should be lower-case here at all times) is when I'm feeling science-fictiony and feel like leaving earth and disappearing forever... into the raqiya.

The weird thing for me is that I'm more likely to listen to H to He than any other VdGG album.  In fact, my most listened to VdGG album is The Aerosol Grey Machine.  I love the raw sound, the raw energy and the dodgy recording quality.  I'm weird like that.  It's VdGG at their beginning... before they smoothed out their sound and became a solid musical platform.

The least... is also a wonderful album and one I rate very highly.  There's a bad song on their either... and yes, I even love the Dalek voice on After the Flood. One of my favourite VdGG tracks ever is Darkness 11/11 anyhow... and I love White Hammer a lot.  As for Refugees it's a song I can almost sing... it's one the few song I know pretty much all the words too off by heart as well.

Brilliant album.

And laugh at my usage of Raqiya and tmesis in the SR.  Oh the thought of making this place quasi-intellectual is amusing!

Enjoy your long-lasting fame.

I'm waiting for the right opportunity to use rododactylos in an Acquiring The Taste-styled supple innuendo.

I love that part. Big%20smile

The thing is though, Hammill actually misquotes Einstein... not by much though.

Hammill: Every step appears to be an unavoidable consequence of the preceding one, and in the end there beckons more and more clearly total ANNIHILATION

Einstein: Every step appears as the unavoidable consequence of the preceding one. In the end, there beckons more and more clearly general annihilation.

But hey-ho, one must not be cynical or pedantic. Wink

Besides, Fishes can't fly, 'cause Fishes don't exist.

I mean in a P.A. review that nobody will take any notice of, due to the fact I wrote said review some time back and have only just edited it and inserted tmesis in. Big%20smile

O Peter, where for art thou Peter!

Exocoetidae can fly. Wink

They're a member of the Actinopterygii class. Wink

Who are quite obviously of Phylum Chordata.

Pat, you don't like VdGG. WinkEmbarrassed

One of three:

Chameleon in the Shadow of the Night
The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage
In Camera

Although as you're a VdGG luddite... I'd say for Pat's tastes:

Over
The Future Now
pH7

2006 live album Veracious is amazing though.  It's sublime and even VdGG luddite Patrick will like it. Big%20smile

Addendum: I'd get properly acquainted with VdGG first.  Now you have the ears for RIO/Avant-prog, you'll find VdGG much easier and you'll realise what you've been missing out on for all these years.

I don't ever remember saying that - it's definitely true I don't like them as much as you or Rob do, but I most certainly like them.
