WHERE ARE THE GIRLS !!!???

Except for APOTEOSI, OPUS AVANTRA, PIERROT LUNAIRE, ZAUBER, the little Jenny OF SAINT JUST and some others, the female lead vocals are rare in RPI.

So my question is : Would the RPI be a Macho Art ?

Sophya Baccini/Presence, Conqueror, Jacula/Rex (sometimes), Aries, Euthymia, Greenwall, Mindflower, LaGartija, Prowlers, Plurima Mundi.

That's what I could come up with off the cuff....Smile  (in addition to yours)

^ True, the girls a far fewer but that's the case in all prog.

Besides the ones you mentioned a quick think and I came up with Conqueror, Antonius Rex and Jacula, Circus 2000 (more Psych), Sophya Baccini (solo and with Prescence) and Biglietto Per L'Inferno (only recently). They are few and far between though.

Ha! I see Jim was posting at the same time as me. Smile

You're very welcome Lizzy and happy hunting. Rustichelli and Bordini is a particularly good one IMO though let down a little by the vocals.

News Flash: Il Bacio Della Medusa

"In the summer of 2010 the Violinist Daniel Rinchi leaves the band and the BDM closes the group with the actual arrangement.

At the same time the group begins the writing of a new album "Deus lo vult" in June 2011 and enters the studio for the recordings.

In July 2011, the BDM leaves Black Widow Records and, aiming to the growth in terms of image, arrives at an experimental  advertising project coordinated by  Glare Art & Communicationss, which aims at raising the value of the band and at making it more attractive to new record labels." --their site

Seconded!
I wonder if there will be more focus on those brilliant old school organ parts, now that Daniel Rinchi left with his violin?
(What does "closes the group with the actual arrangement" mean in this context? Sorry but my head is sown on backwards todayEmbarrassed

I love the 2nd-4th ones on your list Pierre, but hey, as you say, it's just taste.  There are no right or wrong answers about it.

Luckily RPI has enough gems to cover everyone's taste!Smile

Absolutly Jim. The more I search, the more I understand at what point  the first years of the seventies in Italy were blessed.

Take a look at that TV Live of RADM's Vertigine.

Watch the girls (goupies ? girlfriends ?). See their hands, their lips. They know the song by heart.

WHERE IS MY HEAD ? In the 4 stars for sure ! Another Gem. Thanks again Jim. I've been listenning to IL GRUPPO D'ALTERNATIVA all day. Fantastic, even if the singer has a duck voice. After all, I'm a duck myself !
Strange and intense album really, full of rock, prog, folk , jazz, kautrock, psyche and even classical piano. This band put the world in its music whithout sounding a second like world music. I looooove it.Thumbs Up

The way you describe that record Pierre - makes me think these guys might have been thinking about a future Danish dude, when they made this albumLOL

I have been using my time in class today, reading about RPI. Our speaker was merely reciting what we all had read, and things quickly became zzzzzz David Hume zzzzzzz what about some RPI surfing I then thought to myself.
I found some pretty interesting stuff - I don´t see it featured here at the RPI section, but through reading various webpages google-translated into Danish, I understood that somebody out there thought very highly of these records.

The first is called Le Group X - Frrrrigidaire (1972):

Here´s a crazy guy - with an even crazier cover artLOL Alberto Radius - Radius (1977 - 72?):

This last one is with Demitrio StratosHeart

This is more old school, but there´s a warm vibe going on here. Armando Piazza - Naus (1973):

This one sounds really interesting and very melodious. Albero Motore - Il Grande Gioco (1974):

And last a band called Ultima Spiaggia. They made a record called Disco dell´Angoscia in 1975:

That ought to be proof that I´m doing something constructive with my studiesBig smile
Do any of you guys know of these artists?
And sorry for the ENORMOUS post, I just thought you might like to hear what I´m talking aboutEmbarrassed

I knew only l'Ultmo Spiaggia and the rock album by Albero Motore. Le Groupe X is very funny and intersting.

Thank you Pierre.  I am bringing this one to the team for evaluation.  Great stuff.

Guldie, we'll vett those as well.  Radius has been discussed before, can't remember the details off hand.
