Congratulations to all our Italian football fans from myself as well! ![Thumbs Up](smileys/smiley20.gif) It was an amazing game, although no goals in the first 118 minutes it was great, entertaining football throughout the match. In the end Italy deserved it, they were excellent, very few mistakes in the defence. And two beautiful goals.

The Italy & Germany match is one for the books. A truly great game, well played, hard fought and could've gone either way. Probably one of the best games I have seen in a long time. Congrats to Italy!!

Can't say that I'm a big fan of soccer (American football is my sport) but I've been tuning in to the world cup and must admit I've enjoyed the matches I've seen so far. The Italy/Germany game must have completely exhausted both players and spectators but it was a great display of athleticism on the field. Too bad someone had to lose.

I'll dance around the streets of Rome, as that's where I live... You should've been here yesterday night!

Yes I bet it was a fabulous atmosphere.
I was in Bologna when Italy thrashed Croatia and it seemed like the whole city was shaking when Italy scored each goal.

This evening I will watch Portugal-France at home with my half-Portuguese friend and his Portuguese family, their hot-blooded temper is wonderful to experience and reminds of the Brasilian way of enjoying football. I hope Portugal will show the world that they can beat France with football and that they don't need all those nasty trics and irritating theater ... ![Angry](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley7.gif)
I go for 1-0 to Portugal but if Zidane is in the same shape as against Brasil ... no chance for Portugal ...

I expect another tight game but France to edge it 1-0.
The perfect scenario:
The whistle blows for kick off,the whistle blows again immediately. The ref marches over to Ronaldo and shows the red card-sent off for being a girl,a clear breach of the rules.

I hope Portugal wins. They get Deco back and that should make a difference. To see Portugal in the final would be a delight, even though Italy would probably beat them.

I'm rooting for Portugal tonight! If Italy has to lose the cup, I'd rather it were to Portugal (which I've never visited, but I love the language) than to France.

Of course, then Italy wouldn't have to fend off Henry and Zidane ![Wink](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)
