Y'know, Kate is the first Female vocalist to achieve mega-popularity.......nothing wrong with that....
I fell in love with Hounds Of Love, (and Never For Ever)........but I thought (think) her music is still tailored for mainstream appeal. For that success, she deserves mega-kudos, but I do prefer lower-key vocal Angels to her. Barbara Gaskin comes to mind as a strong, charismatic vocalist as well, though not many folks are familiar with her..... My current 'pick of the bunch' (testosterone notwithstanding...... ) is Christina. She is beautiful from all angles, and the music she sings along to is just HEAVEN........ |

( Corvus Stone artist an' all........and living in exotic Mozambique... ) Kate is 'The One' that showed 'em all that Women can make it in this area..........and most creatively as well..... I turn to more weird things, like Dagmar Krause, just because I'm a weirdo myself )..... but yeah, Kate B.........UNDENIABLE............. |

Aawww. C'mon - I'm not that socially adept to be on Facebook......
Whatever, it takes something literally Earth-Shaking to rock my world these days, and Magenta have done so.......... (for years it's been many Canterbury things.......) Edited by Tom Ozric - November 18 2014 at 05:24 |

But outside the prog universe, she wasn't the first. There were Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Aretha Franklin, and more |
