I'm with you. I liked The Incident more than Fear Of A Blank Planet.

As for the new Steven Wilson — picking it up on my lunch hour tomorrow.

Still waiting, and very impatiently at that. It should most definitely be here tomorrow, it was sent out on the 21st.

Deform to Form a Star and Remainder the Black Dog are the best songs he's written in a long time. Fact.

I'm looking forward to hearing this. Parts even sounded like Zeuhl in the sample

The Incident is certainly more even, however I still say it is fairly unremarkable as far as Wilson's music goes.

FOABP is massively overrated imo, but Anesthetize and Way Out of Here are great songs. The rest of the songs however on FOABP are not all that good. The title track in particular is very mediocre. I wish that some of the songs from Nil Recurring were on FOABP, as they are much better.

"Time Flies" is one of my favorite SW songs and probably in my top 5. I don't know...The Incident just really grabbed me.

To each his own, eh?

Pretty much.

When I listen to the Incident, I do enjoy it. I just don't find myself having a desire to listen to it very often....

It arrived yesterday just as I was heading out the door for the rest of the day.

So far (only twice through it as yet, will take more) Index is standing out.  It's outta the park, hits on all cylinders (insert cliche of choice).  I hope he never actually explains the lyrics, because I don't want to know  that his basic idea was banal.  Wink

First impressions -- the album is definitely more nuanced than Insurgentes.  Not sure yet whether it is better.

Instead of giving Steven Wilson a black eye you are really giving PA a black eye and why they do not shut you down I have no idea??

Is there a reason why most post is "pending approval"? It wasn't anything inappropriate. I've never had that happen on here before.

Anyway, someone said they thought Time Flies was great and I'd agree, that's the most redeeming part of The Incident, even if the intro sounds a lot like Dogs.

Does anyone else think the title refers to Jeff Buckley? The way he died by drowning, and released the album Grace?

"Hate" seems a tad extreme, don't you think?  The guys' entitled to his opinion, if he's wrong he's wrong.  Big deal.
