All of Henry Cow's albums deserve 5 stars? That is not objective at all, my friend
| Yes, I must say that calling one's own opinion about music "objective" is, well, absurd.

It sounds really good! ![Thumbs Up Thumbs Up](smileys/smiley20.gif)
| There's a Celtic rock band I enjoy called Seven Nations- they covered "Under the Milky Way" on their third album (using real bagpipes instead of the keyboard you hear), and it's phenomenal.

I meant in terms of the rigidly defined guidelines. I wouldn't hesitate to say that every one of Henry Cow's albums is "essential: a masterpiece of progressive rock/music." As much as I love all of Rush's albums, I would hesitate to say every single one of their albums fits that.

Good point. But I think we need to lose the terms objective/subjective. Reviews should be what you like and what you don't like and discuss. It might sound like objective / subjective but its completely different. IMO.

It's just a matter of being picky on wording. ![Wink Wink](smileys/smiley2.gif) I attempt to fit the guidelines for reviewing as well as possible while also maintaining my own unique style.

Well, to an extent. There are objective (or, at least partly objective) criteria which can be applied, but our individual weightings of those criteria are going to be subjective, hence, while you probably can't call something a masterpiece from a solely objective point of view, reviews can have a bit of objectivity in them.
