I took a risky step here - putting all my faith in my virus scanner. I disable Adblock and NoScipt completely, then did some random surfing, searching and posting. So far, I find no malware of any kind. No guarantee, but thinks like the virusscanner of two weeks ago, last weeks hack and tonights issues seem to have vanished for now. I'll run the same experiment in Internet Explorer to make a bit more sure.

I've opened several pages, viewed the source code looking for random scripts and kept an eye on the temporary internet files directory for unexpected files. Nothing found so far. Evrything looks clear to me.

Could you point us at some pages you saw the problem on BJ?
What?

No malware found when repeating this random effort in Internet Explodrer.

It's no guarantee, but it does make me feel a bit more confident that the coast is clear for at least a while. 8010 may re-appear though, it came back an hour after the site was fixed. Keep your eyes wide open M@X!

Im not completely sure myself. Flossy thought it though, and I've had several issues here lately, notably with enetering threads (takes two minutes) and so on, so Im not outlocking that it might be something hereOuch

Good point Bj - loading the pages is slow, I'll run another round with Adblock disabled and NoScipt on, it will tell me what scripts are coming in.

@Atkingani: yes it does, just like all 3000 others that were damaged twice tonight WinkPinchCry Glad M@X had his eyes open.

I missed this, because I've been away... but when I came to P.A. earlier, the website wasn't recognised at all, is this linked to this new hacking?

It soon came back and I presumed at the time it may have been a hacking, but wasn't sure.

I've not checked the database for entries though.

^James, that was M@X taking the sight down for repairs (lasted 15 minutes or so).

@Bj: got a particular thread in mind? All I notice is that downloading signature pictures from Photobucket takes quite a while ...

I was watching the television 15 minutes ago...

I meant 3 or 4 hours ago actually.

Oh, I misread that... when did this occur?

Basically every thread I try to access and the main forum page!

It varies from day to day it seems though. One day there's no problems at all, the other day it's nothing but problems.. AngryCry

I did have problems posting the other day, but that was my P.C., rather than the site.

Even the VR loads quickly.

That figures. I experience that every once in a while as well (just like James), but that's likely related to the amount of traffic your data encounters on it's way from ProgArchives, the advertisement servers, Photobucket etc., to your PC. If you're in the wrong place, that may be problematic more often, being related to geographical location, , population density, your connection speed and the topology of the internet. Can't help you there, but it's more likely that than malware from what I find and what I read in Dean's post.

Keep us (or rather M@X) posted though....
