Yes- The Yes Album
Rush- Hemispheres
ELO- Eldorado
King Crimson- Lark's Tongues in Aspic
Jethro Tull- Heavy Horses

Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here
Genesis- Trick of the Tail
Emerson, Lake & Palmer – Works Vol I
Frank Zappa- Apostrophe
Super Tramp- Crime of the Century

Al Di Meola- Elegant Gypsy
Santana- Festival
Rick Wakeman- Six Wives of King Henry VIII
Weather Report- Heavy Weather
Kansas- Leftoverture

These are albums I remember my big brother playing during the 70s.

This was a challenging exercise.  Many of my favorite 70s prog albums... I did not hear until after the 70s were in my rearview mirror.  I had to sort through my memories since I was eight when I exited the 70s.

My brother gave me "Wish You Were Here" for Christmas.  Then, he made me trade my Wish You Were Here album for his old Sweet- Desolation Boulevard 8-track.

odd choice. probably Santana's weakest with Inner Secrets.

Caravanserai anytime and Borboletta every second week
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

I know...right.   I don't know how my brother ended up with Festival.  It was the only 70s Santana I remember listening to...circa 1978. I liked it.  I still like it.  Probably whistful little girl memories.

Since then I prefer earlier Santana.  I didn't dig early 70s Santana till the late 80s. Call me a late bloomer. Wink

I guess, that needs a bit of person-historical look. Wink
