There are several books, and they’ve sold well, though I don’t think any of them were "best sellers" when they were published, at least not outside the Nordic countries. Another thread here (started after I asked my question) shows that Slarti didn’t know about the books at all, while Epignosis probably knows them well.

Yep, one of the Moomins. Little My seems to fit. I used to watch the cartoon in the 1980s... don't remember any of the characters though!
