Thankfully though it looks like the two of you worked it out.

I remember when progismylife set the 1 year posting record, everyone was so incredulous.... ...and now over the course of 2008, he's in third place.

So, I'm in first, Alex is in second? I hadn't had taken a break from PA yesterday, I might have had an extra 50 posts

I remember that too. I beat him, haha. He never posts anymore though; I never plan on leaving PA if I can help it. Such a wonderful site.

Alex is like Sammy Sosa the year Mark McGuire hit 70 home runs.

Presumably. You don't need any more posts.

I'm watching Rome: Engineering an Empire on the History channel and they are talking about the building of the Colliseum. They said they were actually smart enough even then that they had it set up as a retractable covered dome. When it was hot and sunny they used Roman sailors to pull strings or wires that caused a roof of clothe or something that covered the roof and caused the sun to not beat down on the spectators. And then we have 2008 going into 2009 and the Detroit Tigers and I believe Minnesota Twins are too stupid to build retractable roofs on their stadiums so when it is 20 degrees and snowing in April or October the players and the fans don't freeze their asses off.

Alex definitely does post more than me, and I haven't posted much in the last 28 or so hours really, I'm off in an hour anyway, so today isn't an extreme posting day.

That's interesting to watch, I bet. How ironic with the sports comparisons though.

But do you actually use the site, or only the forum?

I'm more of a hermit than you are. The only things that keep me from being ahead of you: 1. I don't spend ALL my time on here, and I could easily spend more time on here, but I play video games, hang with my family, compose, read, and do other stuff. 2. I have school. I'll definitely never leave this site, but my activity after college may prove to be different. There's no predicting of what my life will be like, really. Also, I'm sure that my posting will slow down when I become employed along with school as well, which is just a matter of time.

The Romans ruled most of Europe for several hundred years partly because of how advanced they were at the time. I think that and the 20th century, especially World War II, are my favorite periods to learn about in history.
