The new discs bring me down the road of happiness.
If they offer free downloads next time, I'm not doing it. I tried not to wear it out before my pre-ordered copy came, but did spin it a few too many times and by the time I got the actual product the luster had worn off a bit.
That being said, I don't think it's as good as Marbles. There are some brilliant moments, but the latter quarter of The Hard Shoulder sags a bit ("Older Than Me", "Threw Me Out", "Especially True"). I will say that "Real Tears For Sale" could be one of my favorite Marillion tunes. Absolutely gut wrenching.

I think the production is far better on Happiness. I liked Somewhere Else. Everybody came down hard on songs like "Most Toys" and "The Last Century For Man" (including myself), but they're better than "Older Than Me" and "Threw Me Out".
Overall, I do think it's a better album. This could've been a masterpiece had it remained a single album, though.

^how is that one Micky? I always see it in the CD store, but never buy it.
you should... granted I always thought the Bunker/Cornick era of the band was far superior to later incarnations of the band. So I'm a fanboy of that stage of the group.
Here.. have a sample.. from the video.. but the CD is taken from it... highly recommended

Oh ok I'll keep that in mind. BTW, I am a big fan of This Was as well as Stand Up. I don't consider it better than other incarnations, nor worse, DIFFERENT
