Here's me singing an old Golden Earring song with my band a few months ago.
Nice cover. You have a great rock voice actually, perfect for Golden Earring material. I'm also really digging Fender Jazzmaster, I believe? Very cool guitar. It's been an old favourite for the guys in Sonic Youth.
So let the sadness come again On that you can depend on me, yeah Until the bitter, bitter end of the world, yeah When god sleeps in bliss
Those lines use to leave such an impression on me, still does of course, but at the time I hadn't heard something so powerful and emotional, especially with that guitar solo beforehand. Man, those guys could really play.

No joke, that angsty stuff really helped me through some tough times.
Well, I'd say Part The Second which is available on their website for free - pretty good quality. I'm only saying that album because that was my first and I find it's a little bit more accessible compared to their early stuff, but I know you listen to some pretty obscure music anyways. It consists of some of their best tunes, in my opinion of course - Laboratories Of The Invisible World, Rose Quartz Turning To Glass, An Excerpt. All beautifully crafted tunes with strong dynamics and great musicianship. Please check out Kayo Dot too, if you haven't already.

Man, I felt the same way too. Pumpkins were really important to me a couple years back. I still love them of course, but I don't have that same relation and emotional connection with their lyrics as much anymore. I adore Billy's poetry, always will, but I'm different now then I was back then, you know. I kind of miss frequently listening to the Pumpkins - they have this very uplifting nostalgia that I get out of their music. I love dat feel.

You pick up his poetry book, Blinking With Fists?
No, I probably should. Thanks for reminding me that it even existed. Do you have a copy?
