They've got a bit of a stoner kind of sound too.

That sounds kind of like a normal Friday night for us of the aged kind.

I'm having a similar experience actually, due to an allergic reaction I had over the weekend.  My eyelids are still swollen and dried up.  I look like sh*t.

Had a nice sushi lunch with my colleague though, one of those business lunches where the company pays for it, but where it's also relaxed because you're also friends with the guy.  Now I have full feels in my stomach.

That's a pretty accurate description of what they do, at least on the last 2 albums.  I really hope the new one measures up.

Mmm, sushi. I could have some of that. I had the best sushi of my life last spring, in a Russian hotel lobby restaurant of all places.

Good to hear you had a good time at the Rush concert last night, Steve. I must admit I'm pretty jealous, although it doesn't look like they're playing much of the songs I'm familiar with these days, i.e. songs from 2112 - Signals.

Yeah, anything before Permanent Waves is pretty much a rarity anymore.  But when they do tackle those songs, it doesn't really come off that great anyway -- Geddy's voice isn't really suited to them anymore.  But if that's indeed what's holding them back from playing the early stuff, I'd be happy with just instrumental renditions.  The songs are interesting enough to not even really need vocals in a lot of cases.  Of course, that would be an admission of defeat though.

My alphabetic journey through my collection has brought me to Queen, and ironically I got the following email from my local classic rock radio station.

SUPER SATURDAY WITH THE MUSIC OF QUEEN

Listen on Saturday from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. for your shot at scoring a pair of tickets to see The Music of Queen performed by the DSO at Orchestra Hall on November 24. Brought to you by My TV20.
