No, I haven't... And what does Moshkito (the greatest, most appropriate screen name everLOL) have to do with that?

The posts that I have read from him seem to all say that bands should not be referenced to other bands.  That they should be unique.  Or that they are unique.  etc....  Granted, my eyes kind of gloss over when I start reading his posts.

Here is a blurb regarding Astra from some another site:

And a link to their MySpace page.  http://www.myspace.com/astrasound

The RIO shredders should probably stay away, but those Shredders into the Black Sabbath/Deep Purple plus psyche area of the world might really enjoy them.

More Sabs than Purps, but I've always kind of thought of them in a similar vein.

I just got off of the phone with a friend who told me that Michael Jackson was taken to a hospital after suffering a heart attack.  I than saw Tony's post.  I've never been a big fan of his musically or otherwise but that will still be pretty shocking.  Unfortunately, I can see 30 years later people having Michael Jackson sightings at a Burger King in Kalamazoo, like there have been for Elvis all of these years.

MJ is far more interesting. He had a miserable life, all Farah did was look hot in a picture. :P

I know...

It's the Diana vs. Mother Theresea thing again...

And also the rumour Jeff Goldblum is dead too... he's probably the most interesting of the three but if it's true that's he's dead, it just won't get much coverage.

To me, they're two people who were gone a bit too soon... MJ was a couple of years older than me, and Farrah was more or less the age of my maternal grandmother when she died. Far too soon for both of them - celebrities or not.

Oh I definitely agree there, Raff.

There's a difference though, in a way.  It seems MJ may have been responsible for his own death, due to years of surgery and health problems.  Whilst Fawcett died of Cancer (and we don't know what causes a lot of cancers).

It's also the MJ celebrity thing... we're going to hear about this for weeks.

If someone like Darwin died (yes, I realise he's long dead, I'm using an example; I don't want to fate death on any one currently living), he'd probably get maybe one or two days coverage in the media and have a special show about him.

I didn't know him, but I heard of his death, and he was my late father's age - only my dad died at 70. As to 'causing your death', it may be true MJ did, but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve respect - especially as we don't know the real details of his life, only what the media chose to tell us. And rest assured that there are people who think that, if you get cancer, it's your fault... I once was about to rip a guy on another forum to shreds when he dared suggest something like that.

Oh he deserves respect for his early music career at least.  He had an incredible voice.

It's just a shame his life changed.  Nobody deserves that. Ouch
