OK...hacked off of Tunbridge Wells, here...

just sent Lee a fairly long and considered PM, which didn't get through, as the site 'crashed'. So, for the (highly dubious) benefit of all of you, here is a potted version:

Yes, thanks...I am aware of Hildegard of Bingen, as I studied some of her work as part of an OU course a couple of years ago.  The same friend who lent me the Monteverdi also has the CD you mentioned, so I will borrow it in due course.

Among the CDs I have been enjoying from her collection are:

Beethoven:%20Missa%20Solemnis%20/Monteverdi%20Choir%20·%20English%20Baroque%20Soloists%20·%20Gardiner

Vaughan%20Williams%20-%20Tudor%20Portraits;%20Variants%20of%20Dives%20&%20Lazarus

Dvorák:%20Requiem

I have also spotted this one cheap on Amazon, so have made a purchase:

Bach:%20Cantatas,%20BWV140%20&%20147

Big%20smile

at present, all recommendations are greatly appreciated...Clap
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

I don't know about anyone else, but I've been having DREADFUL trouble trying to get into this site over the past 7-10 days, let alone post anything!  Posts don't get posted, PMs don't get PM'd and even opening up the Grey Room is a hit and miss affair...(hey, I don't even know if this is going to get posted or 'time-out' ed..)

...usually Miss at the moment...I'll come back again next week, to see if its any better...Ouch

take care, folks...Thumbs%20Up

Things aren't as bad at 2:00 a.m. LOL

It's still slow, mind you.  I'm still getting many SQL errors.  It all seems rather random too.  Although I am experiencing fewer problems at this particular time, I suspect later on, it could well be going slower than the M25 on a bad day.

Unhappy

As a proper Grey, you should pen a strongly worded letter to the proprietor.  Wink

Trust me, the proprietor is well aware of the issues - yes it's a pain in the nuts, yes it's frustrating, just bear with the poor chap.

Methinks he's a victim of his own success & as we all know, nothing succeeds like a parrot with no beak

Sorry James, that's not technically possible. The M25 on a bad day is a car park.

Well I hate to rub these things in chaps, but Vicky and I drive down to Heathrow tonight & then fly out in the morning to spend a couple of weeks in the splendid company of Peter & Kathy Rideout + family. Apparently the weather's pretty good at the moment out there, the whales have arrived from the north in force (a friend sat on a hill last week & spotted 30 humpbacks out to sea in less than an hour), & best of all, it appears Yellowbelly's Brew Pub will be opening tomorrow ... but this being on Newfoundland time, "tomorrow" could mean any time from last week to sometime in 2009...

I may pop in from time to time this afternoon, but if not, pip-pip, toodle-oo, keep the Grey Room GREY at all times, and keep your hands off my beer in the cupboard.

Huzzah, and byeeeeeeee!

I should have asked him to bring back a Narwhal tusk for when when see a Suede-ette around the place. They don't like it up 'em.

Yes but Blowie is a Walrus... so he'd probably enjoy a Narwhal tusk. LOL
