well it seems as there isn't anyone willing to add there points of view on this topic pages as of why I`ve never know why... no one will as I`ve asked the question many times as to why no one will, so I`ll ask this one more time before I ask to close the topic for ever, so is there a why...

I think, in regards of the recent sort of "rant" started by sadly departed Prog Traveler and accusing Dean of not being diplomatic "at all" - well I looked into those "cheesey" topics and I came to conclusion that Dean did dealt with communication not only diplomatically enough, but also in a quite professional manner, so I really don't understand why would Prog Traveler blow up so much about it. Just deep thinking here, as the relevant topic is now closed.

have you ever had a thought that seeped out so quicky it left you defected? no seriously like those big metaphysical moments in time where you leave long tendrils of spit in your wake wherever you go because you are so caught up in the thought and the moment and you're in too deep and of antiquity. But i don't think anyone wants to take this topic as seriously but these are the big problem of this breed; if only I could use the 'back to topic' emoticon now that would be the most descriptive in these moments.

This morning I've been archive binging on a blog named The View from Hell. I'm not sure what academic background its proprietor Sarah Perry, here using the pseudonym "Sister Y", is coming from but she shows an exceptional knowledge of both philosophy and the social sciences. The focus is mostly on ethics and other practical philosophy, but she also writes extensively on things like epistemology and aesthetics always from an interesting and well thought out angle I haven't seen very many others approach. Perry categorizes what she writes as "insight porn", which apparently has been picked up by other heterodox philosophical bloggers.
As for the stuff I've read today, I can recommend: Reflections on Ethnomethodology, Fungibility and the Loss of Demandingness and Fairies and Terrorists, as well as the Why Cultural Evolution Is Real essay she wrote for another blog. Perry's contributions to Carcinisation generally appear to be more accessible than her own blog. I still need to read her lengthy sequence expanding on Robert Nozick's "experience machine" thought experiment. Edited by Toaster Mantis - January 07 2015 at 05:28 |

I'm actually a bit confused what the purpose of this thread is, probably not alone here but maybe that's part of the joke. So I've decided to just use it as a repository for interesting thought provoking stuff I find across the internet and elsewhere, hence my link to Sarah Perry's blog.
