SD, I'm sorry but I don't think there is any hope for you.  I'm not going to defend the reputation of 11 classic movies on here; you can pick up the VFG or Time Out Film Guide for that.

The Searchers is good, I'll grant you, but that's much more down to John Ford than Wayne, who was a talentless, one dimensional hack.

Did I say anything about Wayne?

Hmmm good defence that , read these film guides, don't you have your own opinion?

Of course I have my own oppinions, you cheeky mongrel!

It's just that you have told me that 11 films are crap!  To defend each one in turn would take forever, but the mere fact that you include 'The Conversation', one of THE seminal movies of the 70's, where Hackman is stunning as the introverted surveilance man. Coppola's masterful slow paced direction keeps the film building, layer upon layer until the final set of ironic twists, which leaves Hackman, the man who now thinks he's been bugged, sitting in a destroyed flat playing his Saxophone.... utterly stunning cinema.

And to cap it all, you post a 'Jay & Silent Bob' movie as a recommendation?  'Clerks' was a highly entertaining movie for what it was, but you are out of your depth, my furry canine friend... if I was you, I'd stick to 'Lassie Come Home'...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

I'm happy for you SD, maybe we could have a film evening some time, and you could introduce me to the delights of 'Kevin & Perry Go Large' and 'Jackass' while you are at it...

That's because Golden Spaniel says that Fight Club is the BEST... he doesn't say his favourite.  It maybe his favourite, but it certainly isn't the best.. probably not even in the top 100 BEST of all time.  I stand by everything I've said in this thread.... so there...
