I am not so sure if I want a girl who spend 20 - 30 minutes before she comes to the business end.......... like most prog bands does. I am too old and too frail to date women with an interest in prog rock.

Awww... poor sweetie. We don't hate you, we're just taken or think you come off a little strong

I had relationships with 3 women who enjoyed prog personally. One girl enjoyed early Genesis, Camel, ELP, and Yes. Another girl enjoyed Classical music, Genesis, and ELP....and the 3rd lady enjoyed King Crimson, and Pat Martino. This was all fine and dandy however, it left my most loved and desired bands in the dark. There were weeks where I starved myself ...rather fasting....tried to find the inner circle of thought, practiced celibacy and listened to the Popol Vuh catalog. The celibacy factor was what developed my spiritual power. If there was a God? or a spiritual connection through contemplation then the dismissal of sex and food brought me closer. Plain and simple, you can't eat a steak dinner or have sex for many hours and then just expect to return to meditation at the drop of a hat....as they do not walk hand in hand! With no physical contact and about a hundered calories a day, you become light. You then seem to connect a stronger bond with the spiritual side of things. However, the women are angered and persist in breaking you. I don't know how or why I was drawn into it all, as it seems to me now a bunch of bullcrap! Maybe it's not to those who are dedicated so, maybe it was those darn devil worshippers on rebound.

Someone once told me that a good prog song is like good sex. You know it can start of sort of slow and dreamy and then gradually builds up with tricky interplay and rhythym changes and all sorts of "instruments" going in and out of the mix, surprises, emotion, periods of soothing bliss and periods of hard pounding and all climaxing in some sort of colossal finale.
I mean imagine if you had sex that was like Octavarium. Except without the sinister piano note at the end which I presume is discovering that the condom split.

^ Perhaps but assuming: 1 - You don't have to refer to the sleeve notes 2 - The drum solo doesn't spoil the ambience 3 - If it's a live album, the applause at the end does't sound ironic 4 - You get asked for (gulp) an encore

I know, I was just kidding
My girl is more than tolerant of prog, she loves it, well, most of it
Can't imagine having a relationship with a woman who would despise prog
