considering the sheer amount of recorded music that's available, can anyone truly say they're 'open minded'?  The most musically liberal among us only listen to, what, maybe 10% of what's out there?  At most.

Open-minded doesn't mean you do listen to everything, it means you give everything a fair shot.  It's not fair to say someone isn't open-minded because nobody has both the time and the money to truly listen to absolutely everything.

it may not be fair but it's true-- in reality if one is to claim universal open-mindedness, one must indeed strive to hear everything from Public Domain commercial to Croatian folk music.. further, musical influence may come as much from remote sources as from well-known ones.  Just being anal.. Public Domain's 1972 album "Commercial" was very good, actually David.

It's one of those mad Norwegian bands led by our man Hrolf Haggis, that's why it's so good.

Anyhow, back on topic we go!

Interesting.  I wonder what effect that there might be on this calculation, if the Progressive Tag was expanded to incorporate all of the sub-genres that we have here as additional categories, instead of all as one category.

Also, I am curious to see how it would calculate if all of my albums were included in the calculation, instead of only what I have listened to in the last 8 months.  Much larger selection.  Although, admittedly this probably isn't too bad given that I rarely listen to blues, classical or jazz, and never listen to many other categories like country, electronica, rap, dance, etc...
