OK, so I gather you don't know any satanists personally, just people you've met on forums, like this one. Oh, I'm a unicorn btw. Take my word for it.

There was nothing anti-Nato into my post and not even in writing it. What actually outrages me (not alone here, apparently) is your new avatar that is So easy to push a victim in someone else's arms but your own. Maybe the UK should include Ukraine inside the United Kingdom. This toxic, but charismatic (for some anyways) clown in your avatar - no better than your own BoJo (the clown) - has tried forcefully/blackmailingly to get into NATO and EU without any delay. Last time an actor was president of a country (in the 80's), it was disatrous as well. ================================== |

Not to get political, but flagrant bashes on the US is a huge reason I think it is time the US left NATO and the UN. We should not be involved with what is going on over there. When we are involved, it is viewed as an annoyance. We just ended (badly) a 20 year war. Why are we involved in one that has nothing to do with us. Europe can handle this!

It's all about picking sides, side A or side B. I personally go for the side with the side long track. What's more prog than the side long track?

mmmmhhhh!!!... I'd hate to think of this planet's state without USA's involvment in both UN and NATO. Overall, the USA's role has been positive, but one should accept criticism. Seriously,
The USA is a key member and rightly so, especially in the depth of the
cold War - even if the cold war was +/- started by them (the Truman Crusade) and its
hate of communism (look at Hoover & McCarthy's purges during the 50/60's).
Of course the creation of NATO was vital to keep peace in the northern
hemisphere for +/- 80 years and in 95% of the cases, troubles were happening in the
"southern" hemisphere (read: whatever is south of Caucasian - white race - countries) is not
to be imputed to NATO at all. Until the Yougoslavien disater (though
Nato had nothing to do with that either, u ntil the UN sent them in) and
now this present crisis. But by some of NATO's members (those with "empires on whose the sun sun never sets" and the wish to keep it), like France, UK, Portugal, Netherlands, (Belgium to a lesser extent, since its empire was in the same time zone :-) ) and the US (whose empire was basically The Philippines, but considered Latin America to be its backyard). The
trouble is that those amed forces that are supposed to be keeping the
peace (like NATO) are being courted constantly by weapons manufacturers -
who want to increase their sales and find new markets (Ukraine or
Georgia, for ex). This is valid for all coutries that have weapons
industries (Belgium as well - and not just FN guns sold to "iffy states", like Saudi Arabia and the invasion of Yemen) and sometimes undermining their allies (the recent Australian submarine crisis). Just
out of curiosity, I checked which US president since WW2 ended did not
throw its armed forces into a conflict during its mandate(s) and came up
with just two of them: Carter (76/80), and perhaps much more
surprisingly: Trump.... and Biden (so far). Of course some of them
inherited the situation from the predecessors (Biden from Dubya, for
ex). All of the others have blood on their hands, whether I like it (and them) or not. Even Bill and Obama did. I'll
handle the internal NATO aspects elsewhere (or another time), but
indeed, most of the European lands are fully aware that it relied too
heavily on the USA's efforts without pulling their weight in the
process. Anyways, I'd hate the USA to go back to its isolationism of Pre WW1&2. Edited by Sean Trane - April 17 2022 at 03:41 |

it is not mere "not taking criticism": when we do not choose people you want as our leaders, Europe depicts us as drowning Nazis in natural disasters, holds parliamentary sessions to insult us and try to figure out what to do with us, people write about how to remove the person you do not like-why are we allies with people who think we are dumb af? fight your own wars. fund yourselves. I would love to see a move back to isolationism.

It's a little easier for the rest of the world to see the US as "dumb af" when they look at who the US has elected as their president these last 50 years. America, the great experiment, a shining beacon of demoracy and the example for the rest of the world to follow, is getting it wrong. "They're sellin' independence, Actors in the White House." Could DS (please) elaborate which european country "holds parliamentary sessions to insult us", because I'm not aware - and certainly doesn't concern the EU parliament itself. Yeah, sure, most of the countries had a problem with the trade wars Trump started, which coincided with the Brexit's custom taxes installations. And indeed, the global warming denial of the former adminstration certainly did not help, but the new one has straightened that out - remains to be seen whether they will d anything about it, though. Most parliaments of our countries seems "sold to the US" from the street's perspective. And the street's opinion doesn't reflect the silent majority (despite what the former claims) and I'm not sure the press is really independant in reflecting the silent ones. FTM, for some european intellectuals (usually leftists), it's still quite irritating that the majority (silent or not) are simply "aping" (read blindly foloowing) whatever goes on the the USA. ================ Generally the cricism regarding US Presidents is aimed at the Republicans (Dubya &Trump), not the Democrats: Clinton & Obama were/are still quite popular here, but the general jury is still out for Biden. But yeah, one can really wonder about all elected leaders in the Occident and the rising populism is worrysome (Conservatives in the UK, Orban in Hungary, the dude in Poland, the possibility of Le Pen in France, etc... ). Europeans should indeed sweep their doorstep before giving morality lessons to others. And that "occidental phenomena" is global-wise, Bolsonaro in Brazil, the idiot in The Philippines, Erdogan in Turkey, etc... Edited by Sean Trane - April 18 2022 at 04:05 |

Not trying to be THAT guy (and I rarely do this), but can you take it to the political thread? I thought this was supposed to be for creepy cults.

We were 17/18-ish and my buddy & I were walking down the Yonge Street strip (downtown Toronto) - hunting for records (something like 15 shops within two kms, plus a few used record shops on adjacent streets). There is this all-dressed-up dude that proposed us to do this IQ test for free, but I smelled something fishy, but my buddy didn't. He went in and I felt I needed to keep an eye on him so I went in as well. He took the test (something like two hours long) and I stood by him (refused to do the test) and didn't even take a sip of the drink available - I was on total alert. They didn't want to give him the result that day (though they had promised at the entrance). Something I'd never done before (or since) but I told my buddy's father about this - I still had no real idea of what, though. Three days later the IQ test results were in and brought by two dudes in suits at my buddy's house (we were playing pool in his garage with the door opened) - middle of summer and parents gone working/shopping. I knew his dad's work number and phoned him up from the living room (gone in "to get refreshments"), and within 30 mins, he was home throwing out of the house the two scientologists (who hadn't unveiled themselves as of yet). Heavy tensions between me and my buddy for a couple of weeks, but he ended up thanking me. .
