I loved watching them back then, flying around the stage. Kiedis with the untucked collared shirt and tie, Flea going spaz.
They're a band I kinda wish would hang it up. Neil Young may be able to rock into his 60s.....but the Chilis spark comes from youth IMO. I think their schtick at age 50 will be pretty lame but perhaps I'm ageist. Edited by Finnforest - May 09 2009 at 12:46 |

Ah, yesterday coincidentally I saw Suck my Kiss on VH1, great tune.
My fave album by them, oddly, is One Hot Minute. Tough never been a big fan, still great band. |

Can through tinny laptop speakers sounds better than through a decent stereo and/or headphones.

They're so much fun to watch live! Flea making his weird speeches, jumping around, playing bass naked, with his weird hairdoos... And DAMN, they're tight and funky! And great musicians! I love them! |

Hmm, well they're better than I remember.
Yet still completely as self-indulgent as ever too. Halleluhwah is 18:31 in length and Aumgn is 17:30. Then you also have Peking O at 11:36... Paperhouse is a good tune though. Mushroom annoys me a tad though. |

Halleluhwah is ridiculous. It might aswell have been a 3-minute song

I'll find out in a minute if I feel the same way.
Mushroom is going on too long and it's only 4:04... |

I know exactly what Squid 1/2/Octopus was recorded for, but it's on my H To He remaster, so that's how I refer to it. I'm just not quite pedantic enough to spend 15 minutes typing out was-going-to-be-on-Pawn-Hearts-when-it-was-going-to-be-a-double-album-but-eventually-got-re-released-on-H-To-He-Who-Am-The-Only-One's-remaster-as-a-bonus-track |

Gah, Helleluhwah is still going...
Now I know where the Stone Roses stole their ideas from. |

That neo-prog quiz was horrific. Literally, every single one I guessed I got wrong.

I actually did know 2 or 3 of them. I guessed the others.

Can are like an even more self-indulgent twaddled-up version of The Doors.

Halfway through the new Bond film, pretty boring so far compared to Casino Royale. Action scene after action scene.
