I was talking to someone I know who's a huge fan of jazz and Coltrane, but he was obviously mostly  into hard/post-bop and jazz rock, although he claimed to like Ascension, and I was trying to explain avant-garde music to him, and I think there are two types of people: ones immediately think the idea of this Charles Ives piece is atrocious, and ones who think it's cool. Yeah, I think there are just some people that "get" it and some who don't. There must be something to the music that makes it inaccessible to some people. I don't know.

I actually keep looking for Charlie Parker and I've had the same difficulty you have; I haven't actually taken the extra step to acquire anything yet. I honestly have no idea what to get either.

This Is Our Music is absolutely amazing. Listening to it again now.

I don't have This is Our Music, I got Ornette! instead because I thought it would sound somewhat like Free Jazz, but it's in the same vein of Shape/Change. :(

It's not the laundry as much as the floor cleaning before that.
 
And it's was pretty bad because it was my boyfriend's work clothes and I'm not sure when exactly his job description started including rolling around in the mud and grease... Confused
