I 'm hoping that Obama will notice and give me a job in his administration.  Hopefully, as the ambassador to Prague;  err Prog.

Well, as of right now, my wife will be caring for children in her mother's house just 5-10 minutes away, and so far, everyone has agreed to that, but it's only a temporary solution.

We're getting the hell out of here as soon as we can.

Sounds like a real life BareNaked Ladies' The Apartment Song in the making.  "I broke into the old apartment...How is the neighbor downstairs?
How is her temper this year?
I turned up your TV and stomped on the floor just for fun
I know we don't live here anymore"

These people downstairs hit the ceiling when we're eating dinner.

We've lived here years and the downstairs people never complained- not until these people moved in.

Also of note, is that the woman (there's 2 men and 1 woman- go figure that) fancies herself a political godsend whose new book "will solve the social security crisis, but I can finish it because of your child up there."

Angry

I am very fortunate to have never lived in an apartment for just that reason.

Very jerkish from those new people.

Half-unrelated, I live in an apartment, and never had complains about playing the piano.
Ever.
From anybody.

We've never had a complaint until these people came.

We'll be leaving as soon as it's expedient to do so.

They should definitely be on progarchives, I think the problem is finding a good home for them.  Has any genre team volunteered to evaluate?
Sorry it took so long to answer, I took the dogs out and watched an episode of House with this reply window open Embarrassed

The last update seems to be micky saying he'll PM some teams if they'd like a look at it (indo/raga and prog folk were the ones brought up in the thread), but there seems to be no answer. I'll bump the thread to see if anything's happening.

Living in a house, I generally have the stereo blasting at 11.  Usually, it is in one room and I am in another, and I need to make sure that I can here it on the other side of the house or neighborhood as the case may be.  I wouldn't last in an apartment very long under those restrictions.  That and the floor creaks quite a bit when I get up in the middle of the night to use the facilities.  I suspect if I lived in an upstairs apartment, the neighbors wouldn't appreciate that too much.

^How's Open Your Eyes working for you?

Our neighbors didn't appreciate our dogs barking all night when we went to gigs or to visit friends. We got an official warning for it (with no signs of any problems beforehand, we'd lived here for a year and a half by that point) and really feared we might have to move, but then it was lemon bark collars to resque. It's the best invention ever, you put it on your dog and when they bark, it shoots lemon juice at their nose. Painless but obviously very uncomfortable since nowadays they behave like angels. We used to record the sounds of the apartment after the warning and those hairy loudmouths were shouting at the top of their lungs for hours and hours when we were at work. Enter the collars, the flat is entirely silent all day.

I am good with Open Your Eyes.  I've enjoyed it since it came out and I enjoyed seeing Yes on the Open Your Eyes surround sound tour.  I never realized I wasn't supposed to like Open Your Eyes until I came to PA. LOL

I bought it somewhere cheap a couple of years ago, listened to it once, got bored and forgot about it. That same happened with Talk and Union at the time, but I've started to like them to some extent, Talk quite a lot in fact, with recent spins. Perhaps I should try Open Your Eyes again as well some day...

Yes you should Open Your Eyes and try it again. LOL  You are definitely not alone here on PA with your assessment.  Personally, I don't really see what is wrong with it, but that is me and I am just strange by PA standards...alright I am strange by just about any standards but that doesn't take away from the fact that I like Open Your Eyes.

I enjoy Sherwood, but I don't find Open Your Eyes great at all.  Mainly it's because of the vocal arrangements.
