I was reading Nick Fletcher's Quadrivium review, when I noted the following Social Network Comment:

"Duncan Parsons
Note - this is just a Nick Fletcher album. While Nick and John Hackett work together and have made albums together, this one is just Nick! If the artist element of this entry can be updated to reflect this, that would be great, thank you!
[ I'm the owner of RoughDraftAudio, the label who put this out ]"

And I guess the same applies to the other two albums by him, don't you think?

Please give link to the album. Otherwise it's hard to get what you're talking about. Confused

Those three albums already have Nick Fletcher mentions. See here :
- Nick Fletcher: Cycles of Behaviour (2021)
- Nick Fletcher: The Cloud of Unknowing (2022)
- Nick Fletcher: Quadrivium (2023)

Should we create a separate artist entry for Nick Fletcher solo albums ?

53:51 Length is not an EP but "Echoes from Within Dragon Island" is an album that exist on PA and what Antony did in digital only on Bandcamp is take the 3 suites out of the album and combined them for easier listening, which makes it a duplication really to the album (even the cover is the same) so no need to be on PA IMHO

- E&O Team: Yes, it's extracts from Echoes from Within Dragon Island album.
It's not an album or compilation. Despite its length (about 54 min.) I think EP is a proper place for it. I see no reason to delete it if it exists as a digital release

It's the only way to do things properly imho. As things are, John Hackett's two solo progressive rock albums 'Checking Out Of London' (2005) and 'Another Life' (2015) aren't on the site at all. As Mayer has pointed out, Nick Fletcher's solo work would probably be evaluated by the JR/F team in the first instance, but John Hackett belongs in Crossover. Three of Nick's solo albums that are currently on PA as John Hackett and Nick Fletcher collaboration albums - two of which don't feature John Hackett at all as far as I can tell - could then be moved to his solo page (John Hackett does play on the 'Cycles Of Behaviour' album, though it doesn't appear to be a collaboration as such, so this album should also really be on Nick's solo page).

Here is Eduardo's original suggestion thread from January 2021 based on the album 'Beyond The Stars' (2018), which has led to the situation that currently exists, as more albums have been added to the page: https://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=125282.

Edit: John Hackett released another progressive rock album in 2017, but this time as The John Hackett Band, called 'We Are Not Alone', which also belongs on the site. That album also features Nick Fletcher on guitars. This is really quite a complicated situation to unravel lol!

Mayer, I think you had to worry BEFORE adding 2 albums without John Hackett to John Hackett -  Nick Fletcher discography. What was the reason to add them? Confused

Formally I need to ask admins to delete them. It's the easiest solution.

It was already mentioned here in 2017 :

I think we should ask for both Nick Fletcher and John Hackett artist additions.

^ I think so too. IMO John Hackett's page should also include his works with John Hackett Band and Marco Lo Muscio.

But who's brave enough to start suggesting procedures? Smile

^ I'll do it over the next day or two. I've just spent about 2 hours suggesting one of Nick Fletcher's guest drummers (Anika Nilles) for JR/F, and I need a bit of a break before I start again with John Hackett and Nick Fletcher himself lol!

You can go ahead and ask admins to delete the two albums that have been erroneously added to John Hackett & Nick Fletcher if you want to, since I'll include all the updated details for those albums that I posted above in the suggestion thread to make creating his solo entry on PA easier for the evaluation teams. I think it is pretty much a certainty that both musicians will be accepted here as solo artists.

Edit: Nick Fletcher's 'Cycles of Behaviour' album will also need moving to his solo page once he's been accepted and added, since although it does feature contributions by John Hackett, who even co-wrote thee of the songs with Nick, it's really another Nick Fletcher solo album.

^ David, I think after Nick Fletcher's inclusion we'd better move these albums to his discography (and thus save the existing "Quadrivium" review as well).

I didn't plan to delete albums, I only wanted to show Mayer that it would be helpful to be more careful with additions like these.

^ Understood and agreed. If you're leaving all three albums on the site, then you might as well update the other two with the timings etc that I posted above while the information is on the current page of this thread.  I'll make it known in my suggestion thread for Nick Fletcher (solo) that the three albums that Mayer added to the John Hackett & Nick Fletcher page are already here, and just need moving to the new Nick Fletcher solo page.

- E&O Team: Thanks, David, agreed and done.
