Oh I know dat feeling, thankfully 2006 is long gone. Hang in there.

woah no way!  How is the army in Finland??

It's compulsory but bearable, if completely useless. You can choose to skip it and do a thirteen month civil service duty instead, but if you really want you can get out of the military in six months, so that's what I did. As the world runs nowadays there's very little threat of having to go into action, which I'm afraid is not the case over there?

ummm I don't now my job in particular isn't really gonna have any combat unless there's a war and there's a need of medics. But for the most part I'll be in one place and frankly it's pretty much the safest base of them all so frankly the only combat I see are the rockets that are fired from Gaza every now and again (not as a big deal as it might sound). Also yeah my service is 3 years so hnnnnnnnnnnnng.

Oh man. I wish you as pleasant a service as possible Hug How much is left?

Still feeling kinda cruddy, but at least I have some fight in me today, enough to get a little work done, enough to make me at least want to be here.

I've been noticing there's a certain sound frequency which induces a panic reflex in me.  The beep made by the menu buttons on my office phone and the beep made by the card reader that gets me into the parking garage both hit that frequency, and it makes me feel momentarily sick with panic or dread.  It's kind of the same beep sound you sometimes hear from hospital equipment.  Interesting.  I can tell it's one particular frequency because it brings back a vivid image of danger when I hear it.  and then the image is gone.

Just thought I'd share that bit of weird info. k

glad to hear you are coming out of your sickness-do you use hand sanitiser? I've become almost neurotic about it, but it really helps me big time.
That frequency business is odd, eh? You work in health care, am i right? Could you be exposed to something at work that causes your suseptability to frequency trouble? Maybe you should mention it to your boss.

I probably wash my hands a lot more often than the average person, and I do have some hand sanitizer in my office.  I think my occasional sickness is mostly allergy-based.  Happens when the weather goes suddenly from cool to warm or vice versa.. That's when all the plants decide to procreate.

I think that reaction to the beep might be triggering a memory of a hospital stay or something.  It's not that serious, really.  It just crossed my mind when I checked my phone, and I didn't have anything else interesting to say. LOL

Evening. I made some good soup today, my first ever.

Wondering what to listen to when the wife and kid go upstairs to (try to) sleep.

G'evening Pekka.  Was that your first soup ever, or just your first good soup?

When the wife and kid go upstairs to sleep, I suggest you listen to your favorite new release from last year (2011), whatever that may be.  If that's not available, listen to anything by The Tubes.

They're still down here and I'm still undecided. I've been listening to Black Country Communion 2 and Bon Iver Bon Iver so much lately that it's going to have to be something else. Not so much into the Tubes if that's the band my friend played me some time.

Putting on Death Grips while I'm trying to study was a really bad idea.  It's hard to sit still to this album.

I wish I could... the closest tour date is Chicago, a three hour drive away, and it's on a Wednesday night.  And I don't own a car.
