Does anyone ever quite know what he's talking about?
In general, no. In this particular case however I was talking about Suspiria and if you had bothered to go through the previous few pages you would know it. Stern Smile

That album is so good that I've heard of psychiatrists prescribing it for their patients.  It's f*cking medicine for the soul.

Oh I know.  Seriously, it's one of my favorite albums of all time, and it was really important on my discovery of prog.

What the hell.  That's the time when they STOPPED being a Neurosis clone.

Neurosis have some great stuff and I think they're very under-appreciated on this website, but there are like 4 or 5 post-metal bands I like better

exactly

I'd say, Russian Circles, Isis, Pelican, Red Sparowes (if you consider them metal), and Baroness (if you consider them post-)
I guess Cult of Luna too, although I haven't heard much of theirs

This guy also refuses to listen to any instrumental metal.  I've stopped trying to talk to him about music

Well, for me it goes Isis, Cult of Luna (a very close second I might add), Rosetta, Pelican, and then Neurosis are my top 5.

JJ, you insult me.  I only added the big names too, there are a ton of excellent underground post-metal bands.  The best ones all have a unique fair or sound, and at the very least the more generic ones still make you feel good.
