Also, our brakes went out on the way home from our newborn's first doctor's appointment. I felt that brake go immediately and said, "Wait a minute..." 
Luckily the right lane was open so I whipped in and we settled in a Food Lion parking lot. My buddy from school (another English teacher) gave us a ride back home. And since we were outside a grocery store, I bought beer and hamburger, so we drank beer and ate hamburgers.
