^ Looking at the album page on PA and bandcamp I don't see what's recorded in 2023. Confused

Additionally, current info reads: Recorded: 2008-2015 (Kharkiv, Ukraine), but if I'm not wrong currently Antony lives in Poland.

I have reached out to Antony Kalugin to clarify this information.

However, during the recording of these original 4 albums he was recording in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

^ That's what I mean - if we point out "Recorded: 2008-2023" as you suggest we have to mention tracks recorded after 2015 and not only Kharkiv, Ukraine but other locations.

this album by The Foundation is another band with same name but from the Netherlands and not Sweden. It has to process by the Symphonic team or I think more appropriate by the Neo Prog Team. I will get in touch with the Neo...

What I really don't understand is why 7 members rated this album before I got to it and one Honorary Collaborator wrote a long 5 star review but none of them bothered to send in the song length which they clearly had if they rated the album

E&O Team: I don't see a difference. Cristi's information just seems more complete. Maybe he updated it after your post?

The reason that the list of musicians is different is that bandcamp don't list all of them. For the full list you can check discogs: https://www.discogs.com/release/27039552-The-View-Inside-Strange-Destinations, where you will also find the images of the CD inlay - one of which lists the musicians.

Regarding Mayer's previous post, the change of name is mentioned in the biography that I submitted, and I thought that this would be sufficient seeing as they had simply used their own surnames for their first album, and Matt Rohr doesn't actually play any instruments in the band - he is the technical wizard of the team. I know that there is now an accepted format on PA for presenting bands who have changed their name at some point, but this one looks rather cluttered - especially on the page for the debut album, the title of which now reads: "THE VIEW INSIDE (AS BRIAND BOURSIN ROHR) The View Inside / ex Briand Boursin Rohr".

The debut album appears on the major streaming platforms as a 'View Inside' one too: See YouTube, Apple Music and Spotify, which also made me think that they were trying to distance themselves from their earlier rather basic band name.

I can't really see what was wrong with the list of musicians that I included for the debut album, and why it needed to be altered, apart from the fact that I followed the discogs formatting and included spaces after the commas in between each of the tracks that the guest musicians were featured on, and didn't condense them down when several of the track numbers were sequential (eg 1-4 instead of 1,2,3,4).

Matt Rohr has now been added as 'mixer' in the actual band musicians listing for that album, and to me that is wrong. The person who mixed of the album should appear below the list of guest musicians if he is to be included at all in the line up/musicians section imho, and if you are going to include him along with the main musicians on the debut album, then for consistency this also needs to be done with the follow up.

I also don't understand why the band's website has been altered from the one I included in the suggestion - https://www.theviewinside.net/viewinside - to the bandcamp page. That tab on theviewinside.net has a drop down menu with links to both albums (including lyrics), media (with excerpts from and links to reviews of the albums), video and also the official biography. Bandcamp is essentially just a distribution platform, and usually serves as a band website when there is nothing else available (as does a band's facebook page in many instances).

I thought I had put together a pretty decent suggestion originally for The View Inside, so I was somewhat perturbed to see two posts finding fault with the info it contained on the very day the band was added to PA, and which seemed to me to make the info I had provided in the suggestion thread appear a lot worse than it actually was. I accept that there is now an accepted PA format for showing band name changes in the heading on the main page which should have been followed for consistency when The View Inside was added - despite my comment about this above - and condensing down the brackets containing the tracks that the guest musicians are featured on was worth doing I suppose, but I am not entirely sure that the other changes were entirely necessary to be totally honest. Confused

^ It already HAS been edited lol! And not for the better imho.

Let me add to my previous post above that if we are to stress that the debut album was released as Briand Boursin Rohr as we now have it shown, then we also need to change the tracklisting to match what was on the original Briand Boursin Rohr CD - with Tumble Down & Faerie Lights as separate tracks - and edit the track numbers that the guest musicians were featured on accordingly (see Mayer's link to the discogs page for the album for the details). The tracklist which I included in my suggestion thread, and which we have on the debut album page at the moment, is the one that the later digital version of the album which features on all the major streaming platforms shows. This version is always presented as a View Inside release rather than a Briand Boursin Rohr one on these platforms (see the YouTube, Apple Music and Spotify links in my previous post).

It seems to me that the guys decided that Briand Boursin Rohr wasn't really a cool band name, and after they changed their name to The View Inside, they have seemingly re-issued the debut album digitally as a View Inside album, combining Tumble Down & Faerie Lights into a single track in the process. The CD that is being sold on bandcamp appears to be the original Briand Boursin Rohr one though, even if the digital download you get to accompany it has the later modified track listing.

I'll let you guys here decide how best to resolve this matter, but the debut album is currently a bit of a mess now that the original band name has been brought to the fore so emphatically on our page.

I suppose the absolutely correct way to do it would be to change the track list on the debut album page to match the one on the initial CD, with Tumble Down & Faerie Lights as separate tracks as I mentioned at the beginning of this post, and then edit the track numbers that the guest musicians featured on accordingly - adding a note in the releases information section to say that later (and indeed current) digital releases combine the two tracks into one and credit this later version of the album to The View Inside rather than Briand Boursin Rohr. I'm not so sure that the three guys behind the project would be entirely happy if this were to happen though. I'm sure they would have preferred it if things had been left as I originally presented them in the suggestion thread - this being the info that Cristi used when their page on PA was initially created. If the heading on the band's PA page hadn't since been altered to include the former name as well the current one, then a note could have been added to the debut album page to say that the initial CD version which was released as Briand Boursin Rohr had Tumble Down & Faerie Lights included as separate tracks.

I'll leave it with you to decide how best to proceed lol!
