How is he going to show us by giving it a 4 star?

The average is still 2.62.

I'd correct out all the lines where he adresses to "the prog reviewers of Abacab" and express his blatant insatisfaction, and leave what seems his impression on the album.

Therefore, the review would remain:

DUKE was the sellout album!!! ABACAB is an attempt to reinvent the band sound into more of a power trio. They didn't stick with it, though, and drifted back towards an updated DUKE sound to close out their career.

This is a pretty darn good album. Sure, there's a little cheese to "Me and Sarah Jane," but no more than to some of the tracks off Wind and Wuthering. "No Reply at All" and "Man on the Corner" have the Phil solo sound, but it's some of the best of the Phil solo sound (no motown, thank God.) "Abacab" and "Dodo/Lurker" (the two best tracks) both sound like dark versions of what the band was doing on A Trick of the Tale, while "Keep it Dark" isn't far behind in quality. All of that is great stuff. "Another Record" and "Like it or Not" are mediocre, and "Whodunnit" is frankly bad, but there's an awful lot of good stuff to counterbalance that.

Genesis doesn't go on life support until the NEXT album.

This one is worth 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up this time.

Technically, it's not even that. There is no grammatical subject.

Don't be mean Thellama, it's a sentence because it has a verb and the subject doesn't need to be mentioned.

It's a whole sentence, but still not worth LOL

Bob's opening titles are alwaysa joy and proof he spends enough time thinking of the album he reviews.

pfff.... this is a review.. not a English paper. LOL

He said in a few words what would have taken me paragraphs to say.  Sometimes the quality of a review is it's direct nature.  Why spend 500 words saying an album like that is a piece of sh*t made only to prove a point to Roger Waters that the band could make an album devoid of any trace of what made Floyd great (ie. Waters) ..... devoid of any real musical vision.... devoid of any other purpose than to bilk album buyers of their hard earned cash.

this is kind of a subject change but I think the reveiws should be listed the other way, so when you're looking at an album, the first reveiw you see is the newest one.  That way, all the reviews will get their chance at the top.

Yes, but how do you discover which rating is made to manipulate which album? Ratings without reviews come in many forms, from many sources. Hughes Chantraine has them, why can't the Average Joe have them too?

Take "Obras de Violeta Parra", for instance. The album had an impressive record of 4 and 5 star ratings and reviews. At one point, it was the highest rating displayed in the Top100 (4.80, if I remember properly). That decreased to 4.thirty something after a  2-star rating without review was posted by a non-forum member. Yet if it was meant to manipulate the score and bring it down, why not give it 1 star? People are free to browse the main page, ignore the forums and post the rating he desires.

I have not, however, seen if this user in partcular made any more reviews or rated any albums. But then again the whole idea of pursuing an username just because we don't agree with his opinion sounds creepy. Stern%20Smile

Ratings done to manipulate charts are generally easy to be discovered: same country, same day, same album, etc. In some cases we had 10-15 ratings (no reviews) submitted this way.

However, in case of doubts, we keep th ratings (in dubio pro reo) but continue to keep an eye in the issue.

This fragment has no verb or subject. I think the writer was trying to communicate something like: "This album is a temptation to go to sleep."
