I'm seriously falling in love with VDGG.I just can't believe I've missed them for so long.
Well I guess that's why PA exists after all. |

And, I wish I'd heard it before all the accolades in here, because I'm not entirely sure whether it's that it wasn't that impressive or I was nitpicking overly much because I expected something better. Anyway, I thought it was pleasant, but generally unexceptional. The lyrics, vocals (not the general timbre + sound, but rather the unimaginative melodies and cheap repeats) and occasionally predictable nature of the music were the negatives. The positives, well, some of the songs seemed well-constructed, and The Wanting Comes In Waves stood out a bit. As it stands, 'twould get a two or a three, but obviously, more listens are needed, and it was good enough for me not to write it off completely. I liked what I've heard of The Crane Wife much more. |

(and best band ever) The number of times I've listened to their four central albums is beyond counting and I still find new elements of them. Make sure to check out the later stuff, though some of it takes a little patience to appreciate (well, all their albums did for me, but particularly The Quiet Zone and Vital took a few listens for me to get) and at least Hammill's earlier solo albums (In Camera, Chameleon and The Silent Corner [and Nadir's Big Chance and Over, to a lesser extent] are the most obvious and VDGG-based ones) sooner or later. Killer stuff. |

"American Apparel's pervy madman CEO, Dov Charney, is demanding the firing of employees he deems unattractive and thus detrimental to the "AA aesthetic," as he feels they may be hurting his bottom line." |

Like how Colors is a perfect album and one of the best and most innovative things in metal/music ever? Edited by birdwithteeth11 - July 27 2009 at 23:05 |

You don't like (Colors does NOT have any 'core' genres in it. Anyone who thinks so needs to go introduce their head to a nail gun. ) And hopefully HoL grows on you a bit more, Rob. Although if you already like Crane Wife, I can forgive that. Edited by birdwithteeth11 - July 27 2009 at 23:16 |

Yeah, but you're biased. And don't like metal as much. My opinion is more objective because I have a lot of people that would agree with me. |

I like quite a bit of metal. It's just not my favorite sub-genre.
I like pretty much every sub-genre now though. |

As I said to Alex, this album is what I'd imagine life is like to an insane person on crystal meth.

I wouldn't expect a lowlife neo-porg fan to understand. |
