Sagi, you won't believe it, my Ipod with all 160 GB of prog albums crashed a week or two ago, and because I've only fairly recently bought a new computer, I've had to begin slowly transfering ALL my albums back onto Itunes, etc. SO tedious and is taking forever....but as nightshift was coming up (half-way through it now), I had to pick the more essential titles, and that was one I instantly thought of!

THis is the version I have, paired with the Gattch album, which is pleasant and well played but ultimately pretty forgettable:

What do you think of that Rush album? I think the vocals are more tolerable on that one.
I still don't have that Vangelis album Embarrassed I bought a few weeks ago "The Friends of Mr. Cairo" from Jon & Vangelis, it's still on the new albums pile. Do you have that one?

Also yesterday:
Genesis - Live
La Coscienza di Zeno - La Notte Anche di Giorno
Museo Rosenbach - Zarathustra (I can't stop spinning this one Big smile)

I did like that Rush one more, Sam. Vocals were much more bearable, and the album seemed to get more interesting insturmentally as it went on. I meant to give it another listen on the way to my folks place this afternoon, but I totally forgot! I'll give it another listen shortly.

Ah, `Zarathustra', the gift that keeps on giving!

You know, I actually wish Il Tempio delle Clessidre would release a proper CD of their live version of it. The DVD is superb, but I'd really listen to it more if I could take it withe me. They did a superb adaption of it, made it sound like their own work.

I imagined you would find it more tolerable Smile Do you also have their next album, Moving Pictures? I think it's even better instrumentally than Permanent Waves.

I rarely play the CD when it comes with both, I prefer watching the DVD again Wink

No albums yesterday Shocked Today so far:
Progenesi - Ulisse: L'Alfiere Nero (I probably heard this one 20 times and I feel like I barely know it, the music changes constantly)
Big Red Panda - Grand Orbiter (I bet they'll release something progtastic next. This one is uneven.)

No, I don't have `Moving Pictures', but I'll pick it up should I come across it for a good second-hand price, Sam.

I don't make a lot of time for watching live concerts on DVD, mate. Might watch 30 minutes here and there, but it's very rare that I'd sit there for an entire two hours.

That Progenesi is a great one, always a disc I return to constantly.

So sorry to hear that brother!
I guess you'll be buying an external hard drive this around. Man, I can never trust computers or I pods.
Hope you have a decent FireWire connection and that you are using the ALAC IMPORT CD setting.
Sheesh. That'll take you a while I know. Sorry man.
Well, at least you can listen to music as you do it.
Enjoy RUSH!
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

Same for me, 2015 has truly been an excellent year for progressive music, at least to my tastes.

"La notte anche di giorno" is one of many good ones that won't make my top 20. Actually, it probably won't even make my top 30 (I'm sorry to say, Sam, I know it's one of your favourites of the year). I enjoyed it more on first listen than I did "Sensitività" though, and I ended up really appreciating that one, so I won't discount "La notte" moving up a few places on my list when I've given it a few more spins.

Kraftwerk - Trans-Europe Express
Kraftwerk - The Man-Machine
Elephant9 with Reine Fiske - Silver Mountain
Fire! with Jim O'Rourke - Unreleased?
Jaga Jazzist - Starfire
Maat Lander - The Birth of Maat's Galaxy
I think I could make a top 50 if I wanted Tongue

Like I said to David, no need to be sorry. A lot of albums I enjoy wouldn't make my top 30 either. I still never listened to the new Motorpsycho album and I know you rate it highly Ermm

Since it was discussed last week, what's your opinion on Kraftwerk?
I just noticed the new Elephant9 is finally streamable Big smile
What do you think of that Fire! album? My first spin didn't go very well Confused
I gave Starfire another listen, what a great album Clap
Maat Lander is on my list, I hope you liked it

Last night:
Supertramp - Breakfast In America

Today so far:
Beatles - Abbey Road
Elephant9 with Reine Fiske - Silver Mountain
Don't think En konsert for folk flest is streamable anywhere. I could be wrong though.

I like what I've heard from Kraftwerk so far, but I'm not as familiar with them as I'd like to be. I only really know the two albums from them that I have (the two I played), although I've heard a few others (Autobahn and Computer World). Planning on investigating both their earlier and later albums sometime, when time and money allows. Where's that KW discussion you had? Can't find it.

What did you think of Silver Mountain?

I like Unreleased? a lot, and more and more with each listen too, but I can see it not being everyone's cup of tea. I prefer their trio and +guest albums to their orchestra ones, but that's me. LOL

Yup, Jaga made another brilliant album with Starfire. It's high up on my list.

I liked it, but not as much as this year's Vespero album. The Maat Lander one sits just outside of my top 20, while the Vespero one is in! Thumbs Up

Anyway, last few days for me:

Bugge Wesseltoft - It's Snowing on My Piano (not prog or fusion, but a delightful, calm Christmas album, highly recommended to piano lovers, the perfect antidote to stressful and overcommercialized holidays)
Large Unit - Erta Ale
