How is it racist? The word ILLEGAL. You shouldn't be able to enter a country if the the law says you can't, even though nobody is enforcing it. |

The legal status of the immigrants is somewhat irrelevant when it comes to being a racist. One would have to question the motives of the protesters to determine whether they were racially motivated or simply citizens voicing their concern that a particular law is not being enforced. HOWEVER, you seldom see placard waving protesters insisting that other laws are not being enforced. Like, when has there ever been a demonstration protesting that illegally imported drugs should be sent back to their country of origin?

Truthfully, I got that quote straight from my local news' FB comment section. Someone said that and got 116 likes from it. I know FB is very corny and you probably wanted to see if I could find a "big name" that said something like that, but still 116 people liked the post so that says something kinda. lol |

So now "facts" that are used to support grasping blanket statements are being manufactured based on a minute number of dopes who use Facebook liking something that offends ones ideology. No wonder Trump is polling so well.

a little correction: it is "Obersturmbannführer", not "Obersturmbahnführer". the latter would actually be some kind of train driver |

This quote was under a news article about exactly what we were talking about earlier. The man that commented this could have easily been a professor or a political commentator etc... That is all I was inferring. I indicated that "it was just on FB" basically, as well. |

I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Really? Do you take everything literally? 116 likes for an ironic posts means that 116 people get the irony of the statement, not 116 people agree with the statement itself.

Only after you were called out on it. When you posted originally, you were only more than happy to lay that out there as if it was a cold hard fact of widespread left-wing ideology (as you see it) and used it to make whatever point you were hoping to make, random and all-over-the-place as it was. You integrated that simple Facebook comment and it's 116 likes into your view of the left as a whole, which is just absurd. And it reflects why so few of us can have a constructive political argument in this country anymore. Was the man who made that comment a professor or political commentator? And why would it matter anyway? You're playing fast and loose with your implications, and created a very flimsy strawman that was pretty quickly shown to be so. |

Get your heads around it. |

Get your heads around it. [/QUOTE] You're making things up again and calling them facts. Trump says the inflammatory things that he does in front of hundreds, and sometimes thousands of people, live and in the drooping, orange flesh. And he gets applause, catcalls and cheers from most of them. How does that number "equal" 116 people clicking a button on a random comment on Facebook? My head is certainly more firmly wrapped around where you've taken this topic than yours is, I'll tell you that. |
