So what?

Apologies, I thought you were only saying the second one did.

If I am reading Wikipedia correctly, Intel Core 2 is 64 bit.

So aye, go for the second machine, in that case.

The second one looks really nice.  You shouldn't be disappointed with it.

It is.

I was mistaken by my own lack of knowledge... the first machine has Vista 64 bit installed and the second doesn't but as you have access to Windows 7, the second machine has 8 gig DDR over the 6 of the Gateway.  Which will be better for a 64 bit OS such as Windows 7.

I know Core 2 Quad is a little overkill, but I need something that can run Visual Studio at a quick pace.

Also, second machine has a SATA 3G HDD instead of SATA II.

Although personally I'd try and get a 1 or 2 Tb. drive.

Not even I have a 1 Tb. drive yet... I may get an external, as I'm using a laptop.  Besides, I don't want to clog up my laptop HDD with music.

I'd also personally want to put in a NVidea GeForce or ATI card.

I guess you guys could go back to fawning over E-Re and making everyone who doesn't have it jealous.

Agreed.  At least I have 2032 to hold me over for this year.

Ditto for me. Dunno if it's better than Led Bib though.

I'm sure it'll most likely end up in my top 5, so far it's looking like E-Re, 2032 and Hazards of Love are the ones I'm most sure will be there.

I noticed. Can't go wrong with any of their albums. Just a fantastic band.
