Fnak me.  Sensible Shoes is such a stellar album.  Now listening to it for the first time on the stereo, rather than through headphones.

Mmmmm tasty!

The beginning was not remarkable, the first time I heard it, compared to the middle juice, but now it all comes together better. It's currently in my top 10, I think.

The beginning is epic win for me.  Very remarkable for Herr Smirnoff.

But aye, it all comes together nicely.

Middle part is the best.

Yup, temporarily #10 if I don't include Kronos Quartet in the picture (since it's not really prog), #11 if I do.

Gosh, it's no. 1 for me so far.  Although I now have Ementehtt-Re on pre-order.

But then I don't really class Led Bib as prog either... so erm... it shouldn't really be in the list!

I still need to hear Fear Draws Misfortune, mind you.

That's right, pack your avant stuff and get out of our prog. Tongue

Magma is in my top 5, still deciding exactly where.

I didn't understand almost a single thing the OOIOO girls did on their latest.

Are there any computer nerds actively reading this thread?

Given my current top 5 (Nemo, Wobbler, Return To Forever, Astra, Kronos Quartet), Magma's definitely in the top 3 so far. Maybe even #1, but I'm still to decide upon that myself.

Thing is, I'll see if I'm rating E-R 8.5 or 9. Normally, it would be 9, because the two epics are of this quality, the rest weighs less. The only parts I don't like as much from the album is the first section of "Part III" and "Part IV". But the rest was absolutely fantastic, as I've said yesterday.

How come you have it already and I don't? AngryOuch

I hate you, Pat and the Romanian! LOL

So... what's it like?  Having seen them perform it live, I have a fairly good idea but they may have completely screwed it up in the studio.

I think the concert sounds slightly better than the studio. The atmosphere and everything always does, I've noticed that from watching the video concerts.

For one thing, Vander's drums always sound more in the background on studio recordings, while on Trilogie and Epoks, he comes forward and fierce.

Rico, I presume you've heard previous OOIOO albums?
