no, I don't know who that is but I like the sound of that sort of experiment!

i am pretty conservative with ze chip music, just making it with tools that other people have made and have been using for decades. no attempt at anything technological

I would have gotten the new one at the concert but it was $20, and I didn't find his harpsicord+chiptune thing he did at the concert very interesting although I'm sure it was extremely difficult to pull off.

jampa, I do not think you are understanding what we are saying. Perhaps.....we need....more...ellipses?

Henry, if you were to buy a new laptop, what is your budget?
Most gaming capable laptops are going to be $800 and up.
Or you can spend $500 on a desktop and have a cheap laptop for school or travel.

I'd be willing to spend over $800. My last one cost like $1400 and is sh*t (I'm probably going to sit on the phone with tech support for a few hours before I buy a new one, maybe there's just something stupid going on). And my room doesn't have the space for a desktop.

The guitar was kind of boring, but I support this for the reaction people randomly flipping channels must have had.

I bought a Sony VAIO for around $800 last week at Best Buy.  It has an LED screen and is Blu-Ray compatible.  I'm not into games though so I am not certain how well it work with games.

My dad's Sony has been terrible, but maybe that's Vista. Or my stupid antivirus that may or may not be terrible.

I don't think I've ever laughed that hard at a late night show.

I haven't had any problems so far *knocks on wood*.  Mine does have Windows 7, so maybe the Vista problems have been fixed.  Only time will tell however.

I would recommend buying an Intel notebook with a Radeon
graphics chip. I've been out of the loop on graphics, but I've had bad experiences with my Nvdia Laptop.
This one looks nice, but again you will be playing on low-medium settings.

Wait, is that 4 gigs of RAM? And I'd still be on LOW?

I kind of liked it actually.

But I'm pretentious.

I've always wondered about that at times as well.  I've tried Norton and McAfee and I don't really care for either of them.

I have NOD32 and it don't slow down the machine... I've heard that Panda is also good and don't make the computer lazy... but Vista is really the problem... can't wait to change to Mac...

Scott, you may want to change your last.fm sig so that your recent purchases don't show. Because when Alex sees it he's going to flip that you didn't give that Bela Fleck compilation album a 10/10. Wink

yay working on a powerpoint presentation all weekend so you could go present it in German class and feel as if you've put too much effort in it (due to the fact that the others made it more superficial and washed their hands with it in a minute and a half - mine lasted 4, son of a mother!!!)

...yay

----

Ehemehntehtt-Re sucks.

I hope that's not going to be my impression once I listen to it (in an hour or so).

I saw that you said it sucks at first without finishing your post and I thought "Oh shi-"

I'm personally hoping it's at least a 3.5
