Man...there was a guy on my floor last year, he was literally out drinking every single night of the semester.  Still, he was a funny guy to hang out with.

Culture shock to the max, and I was certain by the end of semester I'd be back home in NJ.....

Also you'll make mistakes. I fell in with a group of huge stoners my freshman year, then I made real friends, and ones that didnt smoke like twice a night.

Guys, it's not about their taste in music, as Jon rightly says.  It's a lot more than that.  My mate who I was talking about earlier, who I love like a sister, is the perfect example of that.  She has almost the complete opposite taste to her and the complete opposite tastes in almost everything.  Yet we get on really well.  It's weird.  I only wish I could meet someone like her but a little older.

And June, my ex-girlfriend was 11 years older than me.

Not everyone on last.fm is long distance (I think )

I was one of the unlucky one to find a perfect guy but who happens to live 5000 km away and pretty much know that the reasonable thing to do would be to just give up on it but I know of at least one couple on last fm that were long distance and made the move. And then there's Micky and Raff...
