Yeti. Definitely is sounding better to me on this play. Right now if I had to pick a favorite krautrock band it would absolutely be ADII.

Which Can album(s) have you heard? Just Tago? I love Tago now, but it is too overlong for its own good.

Brothers in Arms Heart

That fierce Straits battle in the suggestion area inspired me to give them a listen today. I forgot them and their On the Night live album when answering the 5 albums that changed your life thingy. Straits acted very much as the gateway from metal/punk to distortionless music, which I credited to Absoluuttinen Nollapiste in the thread.

Yeah, I've only heard Tago and I really disliked it. I'm willing to try a couple more times, but there's something about it that I just can't enjoy.

Do check out Neu!, I think you will really enjoy them. Lot of atmospherics.

It's odd - you're not that into krautrock yet, but your band has a ton of krautrock influence to my ears.

Yeah, I never realized that... especially when I was composing In Anima and most of Ex Anima, I was practically not familiar with Krautrock almost at ALL. But now that I'm becoming more familiar with it, I can see some similarities.

When I'm composing I try to do something completely new, so it may even be possible that my direct influences are nil.

As for Can: Check out Ege Bamyasi. It's much better, IMO, and shorter so that it's easier to digest. Keep trying on Tago though; give it a break for like 5 months. That's what I did.

And I shall definitely check out Neu! after ADII and Can, I'm thinking.

I haven't listened to that in a while. My tastes are kinda changing lately... well, not so much changing, but making a cycle. I haven't been in the mood to listen to PT, and I don't think I will be for a while.

I agree that I don't really think they're prog, but the suggestion was for prog-related, and I entirely agree with some of the points that Roblov was bringing to the table. I thought he argued his point very well.

Definitely. Not sure which era I prefer anymore. I used to like Deadwing the most, but over time my tastes switched again on my album preferences. Now I just say they're all pretty good, which is true for the most part.

I'm so glad it's summer.

I'm starting to get really excited about COAM's new album. I mean, I absolutely loved my In/Ex Anima concept series, but now I'm starting to feel that this next one could be the breakthrough album that I've been wanting---hopefully gaining more exposure as well. If everything continues to go the way it has been, it will be the first album of mine that I rate a perfect 10 (as opposed to somewhere in the high 9.something's Tongue

I would never lobby for them to be included in prog-related; I just said that he argued his point very well.

I'm not really too particular on whether they should or shouldn't be added to prog-related. Doesn't really matter to me, and I'm not familiar enough with them to say for sure.

ADII's Yeti is one of my least favorite albums in my collection. When I listened to it a couple of months ago it was a little better than I had remembered it, but I still thought that the vocals were just dreadful.

As far as Dire Straits goes, I do support their addition to Prog Related strictly based on Love Over Gold and a few other proggy moments scattered throughout their discography, however, I won't lose any sleep over it if they are rejected.
