Apparently not bashing bands is too difficult of a thing to ask of many on PA whose lives revolve around being prog snobs and belittling every band that doesn't fit their tastes.  I'm feeling pretty hungover this morning, which is quite odd since I had nary a drop of alcohol to drink last night.  I think I'm just overly tired.

I never bashed any band.

I just said Peter Hammill was better than Dagmar Krause.

There is no bashing there at all.

However, I don't think I like Van Halen.

I'm getting quite sick of all the bashing as well (despite my one very tongue-in-cheek comment about Hammill earlier); it's starting to get on my nerves.

You could definitely be tired. Could be partially stress too.

Besides, how can I be bashing a band/artist if I like the band/artist?

Saying Hammill is better than Krause is not bashing either artist.  I love Krause but I love Hammill more (musically speaking, of course!).

No I suspect that you probably would not like Van Halen, but given the amount of the extensive use of the electric guitar I am quite certain that they are secretly Laplace's favorite band.Wink

The whole place usually seems rather quiet at the weekends...  I suppose some people have (gulp!) a social calendar to attend to... Shocked LOL

Yeah, I've noticed an odd pattern throughout the weeks. Wednesday nights are usually pretty good and the weeks generally (though Thursday nights can be mixed), while Friday and Saturday are definitely the slowest. Sunday sometimes can rebound from the previous two days and be quite active.

Social calendar? You mean there's another whole type of calendar?! Shocked

LOL

My calendar is the epitome of an anti-social calendar. LOL

Ironically, in the seven degrees of separation type way, I am currently listening to Niacin's High Bias.  For those that aren't in on the joke, Niacin=B3=extensive use of B3 Hammond organ.  Anyhow, the bass player is Billy Sheehan, who was at one time David Lee Roth's bass player, and of course David Lee Roth used to sing in a little band of which two of the founding members happened to share the surname Van Halen.  Alright, so that is only like 2 degrees of separation but still sort of funny in my crazy mixed up mind.

That is interesting.

I have two Niacin albums; I've heard one and it's pretty good.

I only have the first two studio albums from them: Niacin and High Bias, and their live album Live: Blood, Sweat and Beers.  Good instrumental jazz rock/fusion music to my ears, but not my area of expertise so I'm really not sure how it rates within that arena.

Yeah, I have some fusion but I'm not an absolute expert either. My friend (and fellow band-member), who is a big fusion nut, has them in his top bands of all time.
