^ I used to buy a lot of CDs from Greg but I've only bought a couple of LPs from him.
I need to start checking out his site a little more often.

^ I've got about eighteen inches of space left on my album shelves which could hold sixty to seventy albums.
I've got twenty three albums on order which will eventually take up about one third of my available space. In the near future I'll have to figure something out.

The thought of boxing up those childhood momentos, which takes up a couple of shelves, pains me, but priorities is priorities, y'know.
.......then, the question is, where do I put the boxes I've just packed my sh*t into ?? |

I can sympathize with your situation. I have two boxes of music related books sitting on the floor of my music room. Until two weeks ago they were in the last section of album shelves but they had to come out to make room for the new vinyl I've been buying. I've been ignoring them so that I don't have to take them out to the garage.

First local record fair of the year, got a nice collection of `catch-up' CD's, and three vinyls I'm very happy to come across:

Yeah, Sam! I'm very happy with this lot!
I'm not a massive Saga fan, but I've always found that particular one is a nice crossover album of pop and light prog. The Rush album is one of the few remaining ones I wanted from their peak period. I did see that `Moving Pictures' album there as well, but it was in a cardboard case and different to the other Rush remasters I've got. The OCD in me wouldn't handle different packaging for that particular set! Next to the Rush disc is a Carlos Santana album from 1974. It's a mostly instrumental album with Carlos backed by grand orchestral arrangements, harp, etc. It's an interesting album, a jazz/fusion in the truest sense of the genre tag. I've never come across that particular Birth Control live album before, it's meant to be a cracker, can't wait to hear it. The Prince album is actually a 3 CD set. I got it for $15 Australian, more impressive because it never had a local Aussie release, so music stores down here were selling imported copies of it down here for $70 at the time of its release!! Nice to catch up on it. I read at the time that part of it was meant to be his interpretation of a spiritual-era Santana-like album (cool title `Lotusflower' too), but I don't think it truly delivered on that promise. I'm looking forward to hearing it again properly. Man, it is driving me mental seeing Atomic Rooster's `Death Walks Behind You' in that white plastic case, I'll be swapping it over for a traditional black one in a few minutes! The Sabbath one is cool. The Soft Machine disc is a two CD live recording from 31st Jan 1970. Some of the louder parts with the sax distorts, but it's a good representation of their live sound from the time. I nearly fell over when I saw the Blues Pills one, I thought `Oh, Sam would be so proud of me!' What a beautiful set! How's the DVD on it? |

^ Michael, I think you will like the Birth Control Live. I've had the vinyl since the seventies and I recall it having a great sound for a live album.
In Search Of Ancient Gods is another one I've had since back then and I really need to revisit it.

You don't want to see my Floyd CD collection then, it's half jewel case and half cardboard I knew I saw that cover somewhere... I never listened to it though. It sounds interesting I want to check Birth Control but the awful covers keep me from doing it So you put the most prized find in the center It looks really ugly, now that you mention it I am! It's a really good early concert (2013, I think) which also features tracks from their EP and an interview.
