After Sleeping in Traffic Part Two being as good as it was, I'm looking forward to that.

I'm still not fully sold on Hazards of Love yet. I finally sat down with the booklet last night to read the lyrics as I listened. On one hand, I think it helped improve my opinion on the music fitting the feel and lyrics better than I had originally understood. On the other hand, I'm not much into beastiality or parents who kill their own children, so the story leaves a little to be desired.

Another album that I have downloaded but not listened to yet is Nemo's Barbares, which I hear is really, really good. I'm not sure if there will be a language barrier issue or not with this one, since they are a French band. I hope not though. |
I need that one.

Give it another listen or two with the lyrics. I personally think the lyrics are brilliant. And the music.

Can't. The Decemberists chose to ignore the state shaped like a mitten.

Damn shame. I admit, I was disappointed by it the first few listens. Then I got hooked. Then I saw it live. Between that it went from my 4th favorite to my 2nd favorite by them. And honestly, I still find it's more about the music than the story. That what you should focus on instead of being a slave to the lyric sheet, however cool the story may be.

I didn't find the music to be all that interesting to be honest, which is why I tried focusing on the story, since it seems to be more centered around the story than the music.
I just checked the Decemberists website and they are actually coming to Royal Oak on August 11th. When I had looked previously they didn't have any Michigan dates. I'll have to check my schedule to see if I can fit them in or not. August is pretty busy.

I started going through the Welcome Newbies section just for fun in the reverse order. I've gone through about 15 pages and I've seen about five active members' posts. There was Jean and Friede, Abstrakt, Dalezilla and someone I forgot. It seems that a pretty damn tiny percent of registered members actually end up staying.

Wasn't everyone pretty much a newb here when you were a newb?
