Sad news.  I knew that he had been sick for quite some time.  I did not hear that he died though.  RIP.

I just heard that jazz guitar great Jim Hall passed away last December.  The guy reinvented the use of guitar in jazz music....a true pioneer, but also a fantastic composer.  Pick up any Jim Hall album, and there are literally dozens, and you'll be convinced - Jim Hall was the man.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

The guitar tones and sounds on Are We Not Men ... are some of the best-produced sounds I've ever heard. RIP, man.

RIP Scott Asheton

http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=857338

Quote Stooges drummer Scott Asheton dead, Iggy Pop says

Scott Asheton, a founding member and the drummer in the rock band the Stooges has died, singer Iggy Pop
said on his Facebook page Sunday.

"My dear friend Scott Asheton passed away last night," Pop said in his post. Asheton was 64.

"Scott was a great artist, I have never heard anyone play the drums with more meaning than Scott Asheton. He was like my brother. He and Ron have left a huge legacy to the world. The Ashetons have always been and continue to be a second family to me"

Before I started doing political newsfeeds on facebook this was my go to for liberal political humor and news (0ne of the few sane people in Oklanoma)  -

"We are deeply saddened to report the passing of Bart on the morning of March 5, 2014. He died peacefully due to his flu, pneumonia and his Leukemia. His last word is below as well as opportunities to communicate what he and his Tequila Tree House have meant to you over the years.

As we grieve the loss and celebrate Bart's life we will consider our options for the future of the page in the days ahead. Send us your thoughts.

Donations to help Mrs. Bart cover Bart's medical expenses are greatly appreciated.

Chicago Jim"
