You've gotta admire Dave's spirit. Plus I like his playing style, so props to him.

Dear Dave:
Just because I don't like your attempts to rile up fans about an ultimately meaningless poll doesn't mean that I'm a "Spock's Beard hater." In fact, I quite like Spock's Beard.
Also, did you not discover from the last poll that NEWBIES CAN'T VOTE, SO WHAT YOU'RE DOING IS ABSOLUTELY MEANINGLESS?
Otherwise, I have nothing but love for ya.
Regards, Anthony

I have to vote for TMV not only because I promised, but because Spock's Beard actually cares about this for some reason

I have a somewhat irrational dislike for Spock's Beard, but I don't like TMV enough to make it fair to vote for them. So abstain!
BTW, Dave of SB did mention in that post that you have to have at least 40 posts to vote....

The first three TMV albums are among my all time favorites. Spock's Beard may be the worst prog band I've ever heard. Easiest poll ever.

Dave doesn't care. If you care you make an effort. Posting on your own forum does not take effort. This is just plain old long-distance-trolling.

Thanks !! Your topics always so good and informative. I like you talk.

Spock's Beard are true prog songwriters. I haven't been a fan for long.. since X, but that was an amazing album from beginning to end. Mars Volta just doesn't sound right to me. Whiny vocals, whiny guitars.. they seem like a bunch of guys who enjoy writing music but aren't true professionals and had some success. Concertina is the only Mars Volta song that I consider listenable (that I've heard). I can understand that some people enjoy a different sound, but Spock's Beard are professionals who write great prog music with their own style.
Also I can't vote in this poll for some reason.. post count required?

Actually your probably wrong. I believe most if not all the members of TMV are professional musicians whilst only Nick and maybe Ryu are professionals in SB.

Spock's Beard. Appreciate the talent of TMV, but their music does nothing for me.
