Ya know it's scarce I see a top 10/favorites list without seeing "Yes" on it.
Yes... "Yes" is on mine as well, Yes, it's confusing, yes? Here is my list:
Yes Anyone's Daughter IQ Ayreon Dream Theater Pink Floyd Emerson Lake and Palmer Sigur Ros Camel Magma Genesis
Schizoid man, based on your favourites list (im only assuming here) I think you are really going to like Ayreon, definitely Marillion. Opeth and Symphony X are very hard groups to digest, I love symphony X myself, but I could never digest the "Cookie monster" vocals within the beautiful music, that is Opeth. It just didn't seem like it should have been there, to be honest with you i HATE opeth, becuase of the simple fact that they threw that style of music in absolute beautiful sections of music... it eritates me.

I'm going to do my best to keep this short...
The Who
Neil Young (& Crazy Horse)
Grateful Dead
Marillion
Genesis
Do Make Say Think
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin
The Rolling Stones
Animal Collective
The Beatles
Bob Dylan
That's just a sample of the madness.

Thanks man, I'm actually saving up money to buy some of those artists albums. I will have to just try some opeth though, listen to some samples or something .

and that is why I love OPETH and that's what make them prog and original in my opinion. This scary hardcore metal music mixed to the beauty of the prog world. Brilliant combination. Brilliant Band.

Well, I like these bands (or composers):
Iron Maiden, Manowar, Rush, King Diamond, Genesis (not all the albums though), Helloween, Gamma Ray, Megadeth, Mercyful Fate, Judas Priest, Yes (only some of the albums), Jethro Tull (most of the albums, not every album though), King Crimson, Bruce Dickinson, Slayer, Sodom, Gentle Giant, The Beatles, Camel, Iced Earth, Rainbow & Black Sabbath (only with Dio or Tony Martin singing), Pink Floyd, Van Der Graaf Generator, Wagner, Beethoven, Mozart, Holst.
+ 1000 other bands... I also like some jazz and blues. It's mostly either metal or prog.
