1. Dream Theater - I don't consider them progressive, they are technical metal, and that's it.
2. Porcupine Tree - Could be that I just don't get them, but I find them average at best.
3. Genesis' "Selling England by the Pound". I mean come on, #1 album on PA?

Tool are not very good. I don't really care for Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Dream Theater or ELP either.

Confused So why are you even here?!?

LOL LOL Kiddin', kiddin'

I don't "like" The Lamb lies down on broadway. After years, I still can't understand what all the fuss is about.

None of them are overrated. Whether you are into prog or not, they are classic albums.

I don't see how they're not progressive. Confused

Anyways, here's my list.
1. VDGG - H to He Who Am The Only One
2. Yes - Fragile
3. Genesis - Nursery Cryme (I absolutely love The Musical Box, but the rest is nothing special I find.)

The most overrated progressive rock album, in my opinion, is The Lamb lies down on Broadway. There's just way too much filler.

Some others:

Camel - Moonmadness
Gentle giant - Power and the glory
Gentle giant - Free hand
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Emerson, Lake & Palmer
King Crimson - Red (slightly overrated)
Yes - The Yes album (slightly overrated)

the ELP debut is their best album, and Gentle Giants Free Hand is their best, oh, well, to each his ownSmile

Maybe if the only album you've listened to is Train of Thought.  Otherwise, I have no idea how you would come to this conclusion.

Exactly this. If he's heard Images and Words or Scenes From A Memory before, he'd have to be a hater to say that.

Hey, it's just my opinion. But well, what is progressive anyway? Everyone has its own definition of it.

The Whirlwind was named by some as 2009's best album, I found it to be completely hollow and excruciatingly self-satisfied.
